The calming sound of the waterfall.

We loved our stay at this home. It was spacious and nicely decorated. The home was comfortable, clean, and it was great to have a restroom on each level. The deck was wonderful, especially with the sound of the waterfall just below. My family and I had a great time in this relaxing home.

Okay but probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The house could use a good cleaning and the sheets were all very worn, pilled and dingy. Bathroom vanity was filthy in larger bedroom. Tv didn’t work in upstairs bedroom and most of the remotes didn’t have batteries. The kitchen was fairly stocked but no toaster or pot holders and only one kitchen towel. Refrigerator filter was 70 days overdue to be changed. They should also warn people of the extremely steep driveway. Overall we made due but would not have been happy if staying more than two days.

Cute, but not enough information given

This home is very cute and situated in a quiet and peaceful location. I overall really loved the idea of the home, but there are a few items that need to be mentioned prior to staying. If you have small children I would be very hesitant to stay here. The home is situated on a steep hill that has a large creek at the bottom. There is no fence that would limit the likelihood of someone falling and getting injured. The home is not well insulated in regards to sounds, so you will be able to hear everything that happens within the home, though that's not a huge deal. There are many kitchen amenities, but not everything is thoroughly listed. They have a regular coffee pot and a Keurig. If you plan to bake/cook please know that the home does not have oven mits. (at least not that we could find) Upon booking there are many things you will be informed of that are not provided on the listing. The information states that there will be no soap or paper products provided. However, there were both when we arrived. I assume this was left behind from the previous guest, but keep in mind you will likely need to supply that on your own. This includes dish tabs and laundry pods if you plan to use either of those amenities. You will also need to dispose of your own trash if you have a long stay because only 2 bags (left in kitchen) are allowed to be left behind upon check out. Also required during check out is all towels left in 1 location, lights turned off, door locked, and thermostat set to a specific temperature. These are all reasonable requests and not a big deal at all. The one piece of information I wish I had known ahead of time is that you will have to pick up your keys at the management company's location in Maggie Valley which is roughly 20mins away from the home. You will also have to return your keys at that same location the morning of check out. If you are going in the opposite direction or have plans, you will need to keep this in mind. The home is pet friendly, but the company that cleaned the property before our arrival did a very poor job. I did contact the management company regarding the cleanliness, but never heard a response. There was fur/hair in all the towels and linens, in the tubs, vanities, on the air returns, baseboards, floors, and on the thermostat. We also found a tooth flosser and bottle cap near the couch. Overall very cute, but there is not enough detail on the listing and it needs a better cleaning team.
