After waiting 15 minutes past the check-in time to have a room cleaned, we were offered a different room with smaller beds. We declined. Later, I overheard an employee, named Jake, asking another employee why we didn't just take the room. He said we declined. Jake then said "I hate these people." Okay. Ten minutes later my wife hears Jake have another employee check the room and to "make sure you take pictures of the room". Not sure what that's about.
Got to the room and there was Styrofoam cup with a few drops of an unknown, almost neon yellow, liquid under the bed next to some other garbage. Our room smelled like cigarettes and to even reach our room, we had to walk through a family of 8-10 smoking right around the corner. Alright.
I go downstairs to speak to the staff and, of course, Jake is at the desk. I struggle with how to complain to this guy who apparently hated my family for a moment. He responds by smirking and encouraging me to "go ahead; lay it on me" with a sarcastic tone. I lay out my complaints, to which he listens patiently, and then I explain what I heard him say.
He responds by screaming at me that I'm a liar, that he's a worker, and that I have no right I accuse him of this. I begin to reply, and he screams more. This happens again and then another employee appears. He seems concerned. I turn and ask if I can speak with him. He, of course, agrees and I can see Jake seething at me.
