Very quaint hotel, not for someone who wants every modern convenience but a find for those of us looking for a homey feel and ambiance. Raised floor in the bathroom, water pressure took a while to get going, and the parking was a challenge for me but a good night's sleep in an historic venue in downtown White River Junction. The folks at the front desk were very helpful and personable.

If you're passing through and just need to sleep, okay.
While I was only there 1 night, the room made my eyes and nose sting slightly. Yes, the place is historic, but really needs serious maintenance. Someone also tried the door handle in the middle of the night.

It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and indeed is an old building. Despite not having a fitness center or restaurant that is open before 7 am, microwave in the room, or other small amenities, I found this hotel to be quite charming, clean, safe and with very comfortable accommodations. The mattress and pillow were the most comfortable hotel bedding I can ever recall. The closet is large enough to fit a couch or small bed inside. There’s parking outside and a lot across the street as the hotel is located in downtown near the train station and courthouse. I had a great time in the early morning, walking down Main Street window shopping as nothing was yet open. I would choose to stay here again over other modern places nearby, and I highly recommend this hotel.
