The hot water was broken the shower handle was broken there was no heat the bed was dirty but they didn’t seem to care.

Would not refund my deposit. Wanted me to text photos of my card and ID. I slept on top of the covers with all of my clothes on. It was frigid even with the heat turned all the way up. Will never stay at another OYO, let alone this location.

Checked in, told no towels in room. Staff bought some with a remote. Remote had dead battery, staff told me a fresh battery would be delivered. It wasn't. One light blanket on bed, room was cold. Extra thin blanket drlivered.. Thermostat difficult to figure out. Room stayed very cool. Substandard property.

The most horrible motel ive ever stayed at.
Horrible, do not go here!! No wifi unless youre in the lobby, no trash cans in room, hot water ran out within 10 mins, wasnt swept, old dirty wash cloth still in bathroom. Pet hair on my towels and bedding. Dead lady bugs squished on wall and curtain. Room looks like it hasn't gotten painted in years. Bathroom door was so dirty it was black. Pics of rooms on hotel.com definitely dont match. When shower is turned on, water leaking from wall and baseboard. Smelled moldy. Customer service is horrible. Not worth the money. 0 Stars!!!

The woman was friendly. It’s just not very coordinated. Also super cheap so wasn’t expecting a lot. The AC unit had air fresheners on it to cover the smell. The door only locks via deadbolt, the knob lock doesn’t work. The beds were clean. Idk, it was ok considering it’s only $130 for 2 nights.

There was garbage old furniture all around the property totally unsafe to walk around...as for the room I'd you call it that the bathroom didn't work no handle on shower so I couldn't shower not that I would get in there anyway... dirty sheets...ants everywhere...holes in the walls... windows covered with cardboard ...I slept in my car because there was no one at the office all night ...the worst experience of my life...looks like they had construction going on in other rooms .....almost a Court Case

This was in deplorable unliving conditions. The WC didnt work, it smell like cigarrets and humidity. The nes sheets were dirty amd smell of cheap perfume. This is a motel not appropiate for families and kids. I was traveling with a kid. I had to go somewhere else. This place was imposible to stay.

Absolutely filthy…..adjacent units under construction…..bed bugs crawling on the bedspread! Could not stay here. We went to a nest by Days Inn instead…..not luxurious but clean with no bedbugs!

My room looked NOTHING like the pictures online! I actually left immediately after seeing it and took the $120 loss ("No refunds if you booked online!") -- that's how awful the room and property are. By far the worst motel room I've ever seen. Dirt on floors; bare, stained/cracked walls with no art, broken toilet seat, much hair and dirt in the sink, disgusting shower, broken bathroom door, badly stained comforter and pillow cases... and this is just what I noticed in the first two minutes before I left. Do not be fooled by false advertising - it's truly laughable how different my room looked from the pics online. Avoid at all costs!

We had a room booked, and ran into some issues on the road,I tried to call multiple times to speak to a erson but only recording asking for numbers I did not have access too, but kept getting hung up on.it was a horrible traveling day and loosing this money is a real bummer for us. 😩

Hotel from HELL
My room did not look like the picture you showed. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was a zero, that bad. They charged me $12 over the listed price plus a $50 deposit. I arrived at 6 PM and the room was not ready. I was told 15 minutes, but it turned out to be an hour. They had to assembly the bed, and the TV remote did not work. It is on a noisy road, but I was awake most of the night checking outside to make sure my car was safe!

Worst hotel ever.
Went to check in and didn’t receive service what do ever. I stood in the lobby for 20+ minutes and didn’t see or hear anyone, I rang the camera bell they have several times and nobody came, I ended up just leaving since I never received any help. Ontop of all that; they have a paper on their window stating that their water is CONTAMINATED!!

Scam - no refund policy no matter what
Attention, do not book here! The OYO Hotel Wilkes-Barre East just feels like a scam. You are better off putting 20$ more in a night and sleeping in a Super 8 or Motel 6 hotel which guarantee you at least a minimum of security and comfort. You will read my review and say "yes, but there are so many positive reviews, exceptional 10/10" Take a moment to reconsider the dozens of reviews that confirm the mediocrity of this place. You might even wonder if the positive reviews are not false! My experience was short, but traumatic: to start with, this hotel supposedly built in 2017, is falling apart! When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist announced that she had only two rooms left. She gave us the keys and asked us to visit the rooms to choose the one we wanted. (There were only 3 cars in the parking lot, one of which the driver seemed to be getting dressed) The first room had been suddenly vacated a short time ago (it was 10pm). The smell of cigarettes was unbearable even though the receptionist confirmed that it was a non-smoking room. The second room had a lock whose security left much to be desired (full of traces of forced openings). Once inside the room, we could see that no cleaning had been done: unmade bed, garbage behind the door, things on the floor... and a mouse in the bathroom. Not to mention the mold on the ceiling… OYO Hotel refused to refund me even if they could not provide us another room.

The hotel is a SCAM it's nothing like the pics when I get there to check in the man said your room isn't ready yet with the king bed you ordered but we do have one available if you want to look. I go look and the room door was open not even locked dirty and smelled toilet and sink clogged mold and mildew everywhere in the bathroom. I look over and seen a bedbug crawling on the bed board and one on the wall!! I left went to the desk and told the man no about the room! He left I thought he went to go find another room however he left the property for at least 30 minutes another gentlemen came as I told him I was waiting as well however he was already there and left to go find another hotel bc he gave this man the same excuse your room isn't ready yet so I assume it's an excuse he always uses bc his pictures are scams on the internet!!! That gentemlen came to let him know he found another hotel and wanted the paper back he signed and the guy gave him a hard time about as the man was a federal agent he then threw his paper at him... this place should be shut down and should not be in busniess with the health department he must have paid them off to keep open bc that place is nasty.. stay away from there and I would never recommend it to anyone. The only thing good was the manager he called me the next day to apologize and said Expedia approved my refund and I would get it back within 15 days

OYO HOTEL🏨
The motel is something outta a scary movie. First of all there was no water. The pipes had frozen. The motel hostess asked if I was ok with that. What choice did I have? It was 7 degrees. I was frost bitten already from packing the car for 3 hrs trying to get everything to fit. My fingertips are still numb. The room was semi clean and comfortable. But not warm enuf. They had those portable radiator heaters that just emit heat. Not push it out. Plus a chill was coming in from the A/C in the window. I put a sheet that I had around the A/C to stifle the coolness. It’s better than being outside in the cold. But a very disappointing stay.

The room had a bad odor like a hidden black mold issue??and the bed was old and uncomfortable. The tv had only 5 channels. The lady that runs it is very nice tho and outside was a big nice area

Worst experience ever
Filthiest rooms I've ever seen. Doorknobs were hollow, and doors were beat up. There were holes and wiring on the walls. The second room I was shown was in similar condition, with a window broken and no functioning heating (despite the owner trying to convince me that it was). The owner told me that he showed me two rooms and didn't like it, so he wouldn't waste any more time on me and to leave. I had to spend 3 hours on the phone to finally get my money back. Do not stay here unless you don't mind sleeping in smelly, disgusting rooms and being treated badly.

Don't stay at this hotel! Zapped my money, nofund
This Hotel is terrible. I booked through online. I paid with credit card for 2 days. When I went to hotel front desk, Asian Indian lady who was working in front desk told me that I had to pay $50 damage deposit which will be refunded to my credit card after check out, in 7 to 10 business days. I believed her and paid $50. I got in my room that smelled like abandoned property. This room had no refrigerator at all. I could not preserve my food or drink healthy. I left this hotel after 2 days of stay. I called this hotel contact number 570-328-4753 asked if everything is set for my refund. Asian Indian rep said everything is OK, I have to allow 7 to 10 business days for refund to my card. After 2 weeks I called hotel, customer service rep said they had no record of my stay, refund or room number that I stayed in for refund. So I contacted Hotel.com. in Hotel.com chat, I explained rep the situation. Rep contacted hotel and said that OYO Hotel told Hotel.com rep that OYO hotel had me in their record as no show, so there is no question about damage deposit refund, because OYO Hotel record showed as I never checked in. I said Hotel.com rep that I had credit card already posted $50. I sent Hotel.com rep through email picture of credit card transactions. Now Hotel.com rep told me this transaction was in Casino Countryside Inn name, that is not OYO Hotel name, but both are at same address at 1 Pittston Blvd, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Hotel.com could not help, asked me to contact OYO hotel/Cas

This should not be an expedia option. This is a health hazard with many code violations. There is no cleanliness. Whole place smells like an ashtray. The room pictured is extremely misleading. No smoke detectors had plug in heater with unsealed wall A/C waited 40 minutes to check in. Room had traditional 🔑 I was worried about my vehicle being broken into. Took me an hour to get a refund and leave. Please don't stay here its not safe.

You get charged a $50 cleaning deposit at check-in and have to bring the deposit receipt in person at check-out. But it took over an hour to find someone when I checked out. I'm sure some guests just give up, leave, and lose the $50. I felt like a hostage.

I booked a very luxurious looking room with 2 king beds. The man at the front desk said my room I did not have two beds and even though I was checking in at 8:30 in the evening he said that I was going to have to wait 10 more minutes for the room to be cleaned… When I told him I booked a reservation with two rooms he said oh let me take you down to the other hotel which is a mile away. This place look like bates motel and we couldn’t even get the key to work in the door. Terrible, terrible, terrible. He said if it was not to our liking we can cancel the reservation which I am about to do. Buyer beware…

They couldn't check me in till 7:30 pm when i arrived at 6 pm , they were trying to plunge the toilet and would not answer the phone or buzzer, i was told i couldn't use the sink, when i got into the room and tried to flush the toilet it came up in the shower, by morning after trying to plunge the toilet a few times the night before , the owner asked me how everything was, i told him i couldn't use the the toilet or shower that it was filled with straight brown water , instead of coming in to plunge it , he hands me a new plunger and said my neighbor needs it when im done, i was like wt .. I looked at him and said how about you come in and plunge it , or give me another room , he said there was no other rooms available, then his wife at checkout said it was because of people like me .... i said what your guest ... if the plumbing isnt working you dont rent the room . Dirty rooms managed by greedy indians , i dont recommend anyone staying at this place , its just a matter of time before the board of health shuts them down

It was a really cool place at one point, it's falling apart now though. Also the shower didn't work.
