Charming Coastal Retreat

We have lived in this beautiful rural location for many years, enjoying Suffolk and all it has to offer from Aldeburgh, Orford, Snape, Southwold, Walberswick and our heritage coast. Our farmhouse is steeped in character from the 16th Century with the barn being recently renovated. We have a beautiful garden and private parking. Downstairs is open planned with a piano and separate dinning room and laundry room. With wonderful french windows looking out over the garden. Upstairs has two large bedrooms one with option to have a super king bed OR two single beds and the other room has a king size bed, and a family bathroom. There is a children,'s playground in the village, a new pub. The station is five minutes walk from the barn, which goes to London, Cambridge and Nowrich Ipswich and more. There are many wonderful walks, we are also close to Rendlesham Forest where they have wonderful bike rides (and a bike hire place) a great kids area and a pick-nick area. We are twenty minutes from Minsmere which is wonderful for bird watching as well. I am afraid due to the fact that we are a thatched cottage we have a no smoking and no BBQ policy.

Wonderful Family Christmas
Church Farm House is a beautiful cottage situated in quiet Campsea Ashe. It has everything you could wish for and was the perfect place for our family Christmas. Our grandchildren loved all the games and the endless supply of ice from the American fridge freezer. Amanda is a lovely host and couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend this cottage if you want a good spot for touring round Suffolk.

Charming Suffolk Cottage
We received a very warm welcome on arrival with thoughtful local produce waiting to be devoured and an artfully arranged posy of garden flowers on the table. The property was in a lovely peaceful location, and was presented extremely well, with all the comforts we needed. During our short stay we fell in love with the place and the surrounding area and hope to revisit in the not so distant future. Thank you Amanda for all the thoughtful touches and hope to see you again.

Lovely cottage - thoroughly recommend
Very welcoming, spacious, clean and comfortable cottage, with lovely outlook from the outdoor seating. We appreciated the fresh flowers and welcome pack. Amanda is an wonderful host, always on hand if we needed help, and generously gave us many plums from her tree. The cottage was exceptionally well equipped and had a ton of information on the local area (and on history of Campsea Ashe's buildings). We really enjoyed our stay and wished it has been longer.

Lovely countryside cottage
The house was very comfortable and charmingly decorated, without being fussy. It was situated in a quiet bit of countryside that was within striking distance of many great towns/historical sites. The roads were bike-able and there was a nice pub a short walk away.

The house is lovely, warm and welcoming. It is a home from home with lots of interesting artefacts and equipped with everything you could need. The local produce left in the welcome pack was very thoughtful and a nice touch. Beautiful country getaway
Even better than the photos! A beautifully decorated, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable place for us to base ourselves for a couple of days for our visit to Sutton Hoo. Superb Home From Home
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Amanda and she gave us lots of information about the house and area. The house is absolutely beautiful and exactly like the photos. It’s so cosy and warm, with many table lamps , pictures and wonderful furniture. It’s very well equipped and spacious and well suited to sharing with friends as we did. Both bedrooms are delightful , with plenty of space and very comfortable beds. In view of how lovely the house was and how much we enjoyed our stay, I am reluctant to mention the lack of a shower. We weren’t bothered by this, but some maybe. A long soak in the bath after busy days was very welcome and more than compensated. The garden leading from French doors, is a peaceful place to relax and sunny. The area is perfectly suited for visiting all the coastal towns. We would highly recommend this house and it was always a pleasure to return to after long days out and about.

A charming cottage
This is a charming property in a lovely setting and well located within easy reach of the ‘must see’ sights of this beautiful county. The local train station and cafe are 5 mins walk away, as is a very good bistro pub. Beautiful home with lovely host
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful and charming home full of interesting paintings and furniture. The gardens are delightful and we spent mornings drinking our coffee whilst stroking Ella the dog and watching the birds. The house is situated in close proximity to a number of stunning beaches; we really enjoyed Southwold, Aldebrugh,Walberswick and Thorpeness. It felt as though we were stepping back in time and really appreciated the relaxing and friendly atmosphere in Suffolk. The house is extremely comfortable , so much so that we will be investing in a mattress similar to the one we slept on! Amanda could not have been more friendly or helpful. A brilliant stay - we hope to return. Thank you so much for your kindnesses during our stay.
