This is a beautifully presented 5 bedroomed, detached property just a few minutes’ walk from the award-winning, surfing beach of Woolacombe. Set back from the road and nestling within its own grounds, this lovely property has plenty of outdoor space and is surrounded by mature gardens. Views of the sea, surrounding countryside and the National Trust headland of Baggy Point can be seen from most rooms as well as the front patio and the flexible accommodation makes this a perfect holiday home for large groups or families to enjoy the delights of the North Devon coast and countryside.
A great deal of care and thought has gone into making this property a wonderful place to stay. On entering the property, you immediately appreciate the clean, crisp quality of the workmanship and clever design, whilst oozing style and comfort. From the hallway you’ll find the main, spacious living room with comfortable sofas and seating for 10, a flame-effect electric fire and 43” Smart TV/DVD player. There is also a HDMI cable for use with a games console, along with a selection of books and board games. The carefully co-ordinated furnishings blend well with unusual light fittings and local prints. Views extend out to the sea, Baggy Point and over glorious countryside. A further room adjacent brings you into a smaller snug area with seating for 5, simply for chilling out after a busy day, relaxing with a good book or listening to your favourite music through the Bluetooth speaker. From here, doors lead out to the south-facing front patio, whilst the snug continues through to the dining area which is at the heart of this open plan L-shaped room, with its large, solid oak table easily allowing everyone to eat together. Thoughtful design means that even those busy in the kitchen can still be included in conversations with friends or family seated at the table, making it a great sociable environment. To complete this light and spacious setting, a stylish kitchen provides plenty of working space and all the equipment required to prepare delicious meals, whilst the electric range cooker with 7-ring gas hob easily accommodates the catering needs of larger groups. All bedrooms are a generous size, beautifully finished and all come with Smart TVs should guests want to have a bit of a lazy lie in or an early night. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the remaining three on the first floor. Bedroom one is on the ground floor and can be made up as a king or a twin and has plenty of storage space. The second ground-floor bedroom is an inviting double with ample storage and views of the sea – it also has an en-suite shower room. There’s also an additional bathroom on the ground floor as well as a separate WC. Upstairs, there is a light-filled landing from which three further bedrooms lead off – a fabulous king-size room with stunning views towards the beach, sea and extending across to Hartland. This room also has a spacious en-suite shower room with large walk-in shower. The final two bedrooms are a twin and a double , both with lovely views, and the double again has an en-suite shower room affording guests plenty of privacy.
Outside, you have a good sized, south-facing patio area, complete with wooden garden table and chairs for ten people which is the perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine. There’s also a grassed area with a rotary line and a handy cold tap with hose pipe is also available for rinsing off sand from boards and bodies as well as a BBQ for dining alfresco.
Woolacombe itself is a delightful seaside village with its gorgeous beach and a great range of family-friendly places to eat, just 300 yards from the property. Mortehoe, just a mile away, has a further selection of eateries offering tasty home cooked food and from here you can walk to Morte Point and take in the stunning views – you may even spot a seal in the water. A little further afield, you can find the Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe (6 miles) with its cliffs, pretty harbour and a number of attractions including the Landmark Theatre, Tunnels Beaches and boat trips from the harbour.
