A comfy, homely hotel with superb staff. Location for the Minster is unbeatable and lots of excellent restaurants are in easy walking distance.

They say to never judge a book by its cover and this also holds true for some hotels. Dean Court looked nothing if not stately in the pics and our expectations were high as we arrived in York. The good news, the location is great - close to the most wonderful shopping. Valet parking was also a treat. That said, the hotel itself feels like a lower-end motel masking inside a wonderful exterior. The first room we were shown had no windows and there are, apparantly, four of those rooms. We were moved to a room with great windows, although the only rooms with AC are the interior no-window rooms. Most of the staff were pleasant except for the lady at the front desk who never lifted her head on a few occassions we passed by. The breakfast is so, so, but with attentive servers. Great location. Great exterior. Not a great choice for us.

This is the perfect location in York. The hotel is beside Yorkminster and an easy walk to the Shambles and pubs. The hotel is clean and lovely and the staff were great. Highly recommended.

Fantastische locatie, vriendelijk personeel, inrichiting kan een upgrade gebruiken. Engels ontbijt, aan tafel geserveerd. Nette bar, behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Badkamer onlogisch ingedeeld, te weinig ruimte voor het toilet, douche wel lekker en groot. 2 persoonsbed was een twijfelaar, heel knus, maar kan eigenlijk echt niet.

We had a lovely stay at Dean Court. The staff were very friendly and our single rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was really good, with the hot food cooked to order. We would definitely stay here again.

Very convenient hotel for the Shambles and Minster. Food and bar areas very good. 95% of staff were fabulous. Bed very firm. Double room smaller than average, but suppose that should be expected for the location.
