From the moment you enter Dean Court Hotel you are greeted with a warm welcome with very attentive staff. Throughout my stay I couldn’t fault them, they really looked after their guests. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone thinking of staying in York to stay at Dean Court Hotel. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced for what you get. I had some lovely food and they don’t skimp on the portion's.

This is the perfect location in York. The hotel is beside Yorkminster and an easy walk to the Shambles and pubs. The hotel is clean and lovely and the staff were great. Highly recommended.

The Dean Court is a charming boutique hotel that was completed in 1865 as Clergy residences for York Minster which the hotel is in the shadow of. Because you are staying in a heritage building there can be some charming challenges such as creaky floors and low clearance doorways. Despite that the positives far outweigh any challenges you may encounter. Everything is walkable from the Dean Court and there are several great pubs feet from your front door many of which offer a Sunday Roast menu. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and you will see them doing several different jobs around the hotel: valeting your rental car one day, tending bar the next. If you are spending a few days in York and want to be close to everything while staying in a historical building, this is the place.
