Lovely B&B near to city centre
Lovely guest house which is half a mile walk from city centre. Very nice area. We were on 2nd floor. Lovely clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Parking was reserved for us and lucky to find a space just around the corner. Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend and would definitely stay here again if we come back to York.

4 day break in York
Had a lovely stay at St Raphael in York. Friendly helpful staff and a fantastic breakfast. Room had everything we needed and was quiet and comfortable. Great position for walking to the various museums, river, pubs and restaurants.

Easy as with booking through expedia. Instructions for parking very ckear. Parking and breakfast included. Very quiet area but only a short walk to york minster. Staff amazingky lovely. Clean comfortable quiand reasonable. Definitely recommend

Lovely room and plenty of choice for continental breakfast,cooked breakfast was superb and gave you a good start to the day. Staff helpful and accommodating. Good situation for the train station and near to the city centre,overall a very good stay.

Comfortable stay
Great stay. Limited times for breakfast but actually worked out well for us. Parking was great, would just have been good to know before arrival to avoid us having to more car after check in, great to have free parking all the same. Hotel in great location for town centre

Fantastic value for money
A lovely, friendly place that really makes you feel at home! For the price the value for money is fantastic; decent size bedroom with en-suite (and a great shower!), free parking and a hearty breakfast with plenty of options. The location is great - roughly a 10 minute walk into town. Staff were all so helpful and gave lots of recommendations for things to do, plus we had home-made banana bread ready on arrival! I would definitely stay again :)

Words like charming, English, lovely, wonderful, great location best describe Saint Raphael Guest House. Even more, you must know the staff, especially the manager, Danny, are amazing. They take care of you, always helpful, bright, cheerful and knowledgeable. They can suggest everything from must-see places in York to fit your timetable to must-visit places for dinner, etc. By the way, breakfast is over the top!

Disappointing stay
Booked for one night and was able to check in and leave the car from 11am in one of the designated parking spaces close to b&b .The b&b is close to york centre easy walking distance , there was everything in the room we needed and it was adequate for a small double room . Unfortunately we experienced an issue in the early hours of the morning which resulted in us checking out and leaving , as nobody lived on site , we felt we didnt have much option . We did receive a phone call first thing in the morning from the manager very apologetic and reassured us the problem would be resolved. We are slightly disappointed to right a negative review as the rating was excellent for St Raphael , so was looking forward to our break away . Disappointed not to get to sample the great looking breakfast that everyone mentions .

Great spot and a great stay.
The parking is free but space is also limited. We lucked out and snagged a great spot. The hotel is so close to town we walked everywhere and never moved the car again. Breakfast was great, the room clean, and the neighborhood safe and easy to walk to all the attractions.

Nice n comfortable hotel in York
The location of the hotel is very close to everything. The host is very nice and he gave us the great restaurant recommendations. All of them are very good! The room is nice n clean. Only the bath room is a bit small.

We stayed for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Check in was super easy, the owners asked if we needed a parking space after booking, and inputted our car reg after a quick phone call on check in day. The B&B is in a fantastic location, 10 minute walk to York Minster with great pubs along the way. The guest information book has recommendations for places to eat and drink which we found useful. We stayed in a double room on the first floor, lovely and clean with little touches which go a long way. The lemon cake and fresh rose flower in the room was wonderful when we arrived. The tea, biscuits and water etc. are also topped up. We found the bed in our room a little hard for us, but the staff/owners are incredibly friendly and helpful and this was quickly sorted with an extra quilt. The breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice on the buffet table (the baked french crumpets, very tasty!), and the cooked breakfast was very nice. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in York now after this visit, looking forward to returning :)
