Lovely modern property within the old town with cafes and bars right outside the front door. The beach is within walking distance as well all the sites and sounds of the Zabar old town. Noise can be a problem with revellers returning from the bars late at night and the church bells early in the morning, have ear plugs to hand if your a light sleeper.

Although the entrance way was a bit scary , once we access the area of the rooms it was very pleasant, clean and charming. It should be noted that there is no elevator, however. The location was wonderful, but you do not have a view of anything as it is in a very old and I’m sure historic building.. Parking is on your own and up to you to find. You are right in the center of the old town however.

Beautiful and clean, but we could not sleep Zara Palace is exceptionally clean, beautifully renovated and full of character. The historic stone interior is very well done, and I was especially pleased that the room did not have strong fragrances or scented products. Unfortunately, the air conditioning became unusable overnight. The remote would neither respond nor beep, apparently because its batteries were not working. As the room became increasingly hot and stuffy, we opened the windows to get some air. We were then kept awake by people outside at all hours from socializing to early-morning cleaning vehicles and reversing alarms. We had to close the windows because of the noise, but the room quickly became hot and stuffy again. We spent the night going back and forth between the two, with no comfortable way to sleep. The heavy comforters, with no lighter summer bedding available, made matters worse. I was also disappointed by the host’s first response. She emphasized that she had been sleeping when we messaged at approximately 2 a.m. and made an unfounded assumption that we had changed the system to heat. We had not. By the time someone was going to inspect it, we had already checked out and the lost night could not be remedied. This is an attractive and unusual property, but ultimately we paid for a room in which we could sleep—and we could not. The beauty and cleanliness did not compensate for the unusable air conditioning or the defensive response.

Excellent, checks all of the boxes

Excellent room condition - updated and modern; excellent level of cleanliness - so nice when you’ve been traveling (and all too rare); incredibly helpful and kind owners/managers - so accommodating and made my stay so much easier. I never write reviews, but this place deserves it - would absolutely stay here again or recommend to friends! Thank you! :)

Updated, modern and clean room. Stone walls throughout, hardwood floors, decent shower. A bit small and dark, but quiet. Good for a short visit. Very easy and convenien for walking around the old town. A man met us to help us figure out where to park (which was confusing) and led us to the property. We never saw anyone else but they were very responsive to emails with questions.

Fabulous rooms in the heart of Zadar!

Fantastically positioned within the Walls of Zadar, the hotel provided the ideal position for us to explore the town. Despite its location in a busy part it was not noisy at all. The bed was fantastically comfortable and we both slept really well. I would highly recommend staying at the Zara palace. A particular mention for Kristina, the representative. Kristina most quite superb in her communication skills and facilitated our stay to suit our requirements. I cannot speak highly enough of her and I would encourage you to experience Zara palace rooms yourself.

Dirty and misleading photos

When we arrived the apartment, we found dirt in toilet and reported to the host. The host said it is not a hotel and implied I should not have such high expectations on hygiene. The apartment name included “hotel” and photos are misleading. I didn’t expect there is no privacy for bathroom and the toilet is separated a bit far away from sink. There is no proper desk and chair for you. Absolutely, I am deeply disappointed about it.
