Overrated but nice
Lovely building externally and the bar and restaurant area but the room was a let down. Bathroom was very dated and bed not exactly comfortable.

The staff was lovely and the hotel was gorgeous. It was incredibly dog friendly and the staff made me feel comfortable with my two dogs and even found a place for me to sit with them for breakfast and gave them bones. I was surprised at how large the balcony was for the Garden Suite. The jacuzzi tub was huge as well. The surrounding area is wooden and beautiful but not too far away from restaurants.

Really enjoyed our stay here it was a good base to explore the Utrecht region on bikes. The local area has all the services that you will need if you are on a bike tour and it's a great location to use as a basis to explore the region.

We had a nice 2 day stay. We came to explore the Utrechtse Heuvelrug national park and this was the perfect location. The hotel setting feels quite luxurious, the rooms are pretty simple. Overall cleanliness could be improved, some spiders in places they shouldn't be.

Prachtig hoofdgebouw en mooie locatie. Wij hadden een kamer in het hoofdgebouw. Mooie sfeer, maar wat krappe kamer en nogal verouderde badkamer. Pijlraam was tevens toegang tot groot, gemeenschappelijk terras, maar kon niet worden gekanteld. Dus, slapen met open raam moest met open pijlraam.

Schitterende locatie met verbeterpunten
De locatie is top. Ook de kamer ziet er prima uit, is bovendien ruim te noemen. Echter, de badkamer is krap en aan vervanging toe. Dat douchegordijntje kan écht niet meer. Bovendien is de badkamervloer overal kletsnat na douchegebruik. Veel vlekken op de vloerbedekking in de kamer. Bedden uitstekend, net als de koffie op de kamer. De dames aan de frontdesk doen alles volgens de regels maar zijn onervaren en we krijgen er geen warm gevoel bij. Gastvrijheid is méér dan alleen doen wat je zou behoort te doen. De medewerkers van de bistro begrijpen dit beter. Compliment! We krijgen daar het gevoel 'vaste gasten' te zijn. Een probleem met het toilet op de kamer wordt naar tevredenheid opgelost. Het gratis welkomstdrankje vóór het eten onderstreept dit. In 2020 staat een aanpassng van de kamers gepland. Mijn idee: behoud de sfeer van de kamers, verbeter met name de badkamer en vernieuw de vloerbedekking. Ook het ontbreken van een koelkastje en airco is voor zo'n mooi hotel niet meer van deze tijd.

Hotel was a great location. Room was occupied before us by a smoker who had smoked in the room. Hotel notified us and it was ok. Restaurant was nice and the terrace great for evening drinks. Breakfast was a little lacking.

This facility at the time we visited is geared towards corporate away day events and as a result we often felt as if we were being "fit" in for service. At one point my husband was refused service by the bartender because he was too busy serving a group of outside company employees. While the management were responsive to some other gaffs we experienced (the fact the restaurant was closed for our whole visit and was the main draw to going there) I think they need to try and find the balance between different types of guests.

Good Points - Convenient Location close to A12 Motorway, Easy to Access. Not So Good - Staff service in restaurant quite poor, not very attentive and allow breakfast buffet items to run out often. Many rooms only have showers.

Bathroom was not good, stayed in tower room. Three steps down in bathroom floor hand shower, could not stand up in bath very dated, comfy bed. Staff were helpful. Restaurant was nice. Needs some upgrading

Hotel is mooi gelegen en heeft een prachtige uitstraling. De kamers zijn oud. Belangrijkste minpunten waren echter de vreselijke hitte, veroorzaakt door een hete schoorsteenpijp die door de kamer liep. Daarnaast is het gehorig. Beide zorgden helaas voor een slechte nachtrust. Zou graag terugkomen, maar dan wil ik graag weten welke kamer ik kan boeken zonder deze nadelen. Wifi werkte matig.

Beware of the invoice!!
The hotel is very nice and located in a great spot. However, BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE BILL. These folks try and retry to overcharge you in every possible way. We had prepaid our entire 7-day stay and had taken the (heavily overpriced) breakfast only once. Yet, when we checked out, we were presented with a bill of almost 300 dollars, representing the cost of breakfast for the entire period, as well as a restaurant bill that had wrongly been assigned to our room. We complained about this, the staff apologized and gave us a final invoice on which only the one breakfast was listed (about 40 dollars). However, when I checked the next day, the phony amount of about 300 dollars mentioned above had been charged to my credit card AFTER they had given me the final invoice. This necessitated several additional phone calls and a lot of agony. We won't use that hotel any more.
