「Nicole was great greeting me and providing information. The breakfast was excellent. I rated good on the room due to there being a slight odor. Not sure if from smoking. The beds, however, were as comfortable as a much more expensive hotel. I had a great night sleep and that was most important.」

「The property was okay! Could use a refresh in the bathrooms, the tiles were popping out. Wish they had more than one elevator because we had to wait for others to get off etc. Not bad.. the room did smell like smoke when entering.. but went away after some air fresher was sprayed. Overall, I would say it is 7/10 rating..」

「I travel a lot for business and this was an extremely clean property. I was hesitant, as in the past Red Roof Inns were not a place I would stay. This is an exception to the rule. The front desk staff was pleasant and accommodating. The room was very clean, smelled good, and had a comfortable bed and great AC. I would stay again.」

「We got in very late and we got checked in. The place was very old & dirty. There were dead bugs laying around. The bedspread had cigarette holes in them. We looked for bed bugs but thankfully didn't find any. It smelled like marajuana had been smoked in there or under us and the dead bolt on the door was cut out so it didn't lock. We were desperate so we stayed but if we had of had another place close we would have definitely left. I'm sure it wouldn't meet sanitation codes if checked. We...

「Super nice staff. The hotel is old and in need of renovation to keep up with what you’d expect from a Holiday Inn Express (or their competition.) But that’s ok for a night or two. Really no complaints. It gets the job done and doesn’t smell bad. The rooms are just beat up, it’s old and dark as compared to other $150/night places.」

「The Hotel property was in total disarray and under construction . Furniture and building removed components scattered all over the parking lot. No indication of rental office or check in office. Did not stay in the place had to leave and travel ton Greensboro for over night accommodations.」

「There is no Quality in this Quality Inn. The pool has been "temporarily" closed since Sept. of 2025. Rug was very dirty. Breakfast was better at other places. Parking was nice it was right at the door. Too much late night traffic. Ice machine was broken had to walk to the next building to get ice Peeling paint in the bathroom. NO handicapped rooms available. Bedroom wall was scratched up, looks as if a dog did it.」

「Three Trails is ideally located in downtown Elkin. It, however, is located next to an active railroad line and trains do sound their horns early in the mornings and sometimes at night. Three Trails is also on the corner of the main street junction of the city. Therefore, there is street noise. Three Trails would be much improved, and more comfortable for guests, if sound proofing glass is installed in the windows.
