"Stayed at the hotel for our honeymoon and it was an incredible experience. The view is simply breathtaking and the castle is extremely charming. Food (breakfast and diner) and wine at the restaurants are high quality, inspired and locally sourced, though expensive. Their Brunello is VERY good. The thermal spa experience is unique in the region and is awsome, especially during the fall season when it is cooler outside. The room was super clean and the staff was very helpful throughout the entire week, and we felt welcomed at any time of day. 15 min by car from Montalcino, strongly recommend to rent a car since it is slightly remote. Overall 9.5/10, strongly recommend for a special occasion."

"Il Borghetto is a renovated house in the little village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, one of the medieval hilltop villages in the UNESCO world heritage-listed Val D'Orcia. It is charming and the beds are very comfortable, but be prepared to take luggage up a steep street to the front door and then steep stairs to both bedrooms. Each bedroom is on a different floor so there is considerable privacy. The piece de la resistance is the rooftop terrace, with 180 degree panoramic views over the valley and hills. This is a magical place for a vino at sunset before dinner. I don't think anyone staying there would ever tire of the view. There are a few restaurants in walking distance and, of course, many more just a short drive away. Wonderful villages and towns to explore such as San Quirico d'Orcia and Pienza and Montelpulciano are close by. Recommended for those who want to experience the timeless, curated beauty of this corner of Tuscany."

"It is a very clean new beautiful home with beautiful views of the valley towards Montalcino. However the VRBO location map and description put it within “walking distance” to Montalcino and this is completely wrong. The house is 1 hour from Montalcino City. If you are a wine lover of Bolgheri and montalcino wines this is great as it’s right in between the two wine regions. But if you want vicinity to Montalcino only this is not the house to rent. Owners are very nice and we even got to see them harvesting their beautiful olive groves. Also if you are a photographer you can get amazing shots of the morning fog over the valley. Gorgeous!"

"Michele and Sara are awesome. Michele greeted us and got us settled in. He provided local information on things to see, do and places to eat. We were extremely happy with our room. It was unique and well appointed. They had a small tray with biscotti and an Italian liquor waiting for us. Shower was hot. Bathroom great and well lit. Bed was very comfortable and the best pillows I had found in Italy. It is located in a centuries old palace. The room had some of the original stone exposed which was cool. Sara greeted us in the mornings with a wonderfully tasty and healthy breakfast selection. The coffee was great. She is a sweetheart. I will stay there again when in the area."

Giulia and her family were so warm and welcoming and great with communication.Great kitchen and supplies, clean, comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Our chef’s dinner with Giacomo was outstanding and a real treat for all of us. Great location to explore the Brunello wine area of Tuscany. It was just we we wanted for our family."
