"Very peaceful, lovely private garden patios with a stream running past and lots of bird song. Inside, the cottage is equally serene and well thought out, with lots of windows, plentiful hooks in the bathroom and a great walk in shower, as well as a clean and spacious kitchen and living room. And the location is perfect, with easy access to all the hiking trails and castles. We loved our stay in this cottage. Perfect!"

"We stayed at the Coldra Court Hotel for the first time on a last-minute whim, booking a standard Queen room the night before our wedding. While the entire experience was wonderful, it was Evan at the front desk who made our stay unforgettable. Evan was genuinely warm and friendly. When he asked how our day was, my husband mentioned we had just got married. Without a second thought, Evan surprised us by upgrading us to a beautiful Deluxe room as a complimentary wedding gift and gave us two vouchers for free drinks! It was the nicest surprise and made our special day feel even more magical. Evan possesses a rare, natural hospitality talent. He didn’t just tick the boxes of a standard check-in; he showed genuine emotional intelligence and took the initiative to turn a standard stay into an extraordinary memory. He represents the high standards of The Celtic Collection flawlessly and is exactly who you want representing a hotel front-of-house. Management should be incredibly proud to have him; he is an absolute asset and deserves the highest recognition. The rest of our stay was perfect. The room was beautiful, the food was stunning, and the staff made us feel so special. Because of Evan’s exceptional service, we are already planning our return. "The rooms are starting to look very dated. No sockets near the bed. No usb sockets. Furniture in the rooms are very early 80’s and need smartening up. Bed was comfortable as were all the sheets. The room was comfortable and warm. Black out blinds are brilliant. Lovely balcony and view across the golf course. Amenities are great. Breakfast was amazing. Local fruit and produce. Plenty of everything."

"Room was clean, air conditioning was ok for the first night but stopped working the next night. Breakfast was ok. Dining room was leaking water on the floor for two days no signage was displayed to warn customers also nothing was put to collect the dripping water from the ceiling as you can easily slide or slip."

"A very pleasant surprise as a solo guest. Needed an overnight stay for an event in Abergavenny, went with no expectations, just needed a comfortable, clean place and that's what I got. Yes the place needs a bit of tidying up, decorating, updating of furniture but that doesn't bother me as long as everything works for it's purpose which it did. I booked a room at the back with a balcony overlooking the river and the view was wow! On the hottest Bank Holiday for years, I left the French doors slightly open at night and it was so lovely to hear the river and breeze coming in and my morning cup of tea sitting looking at the view. It's a stop off for bikers and I enjoyed having a bit of a chat with them and about their trips and bikes. I didn't eat at the cafe/bar but the breakfasts from what I saw looked good. Bed comfortabke, I slept well. The only thing I would say is that the walls are thin and you can hear people walking on the floor above you, so if you are a light sleeper that may affect you. For me though for the price, I more than likely will be returning with my partner in next couple months for couple nights to take in the Brecon Beacons."
