“Lovely old building but in need of general updating. Grounds and gardens lovely and very well kept with easy access to the river for walks. We booked ‘Deluxe’ double room but nothing like the publicity photos, comfortable enough though. ”

As it turned out, we were the only visitors staying in the hotel, so had a nice opportunity for a chat over a beer - well stocked with what appeared to be the full range of bottled beers from Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog. Food was fantastic - both of us had the lamb which was stunning. Lots of it & full of flavour. The accompanying vegetables were equally full of taste. “The hotel was nice and comfortable and furnishings modern. the bed was extremely comfortable. The outside bar area overlooking the tidal estuary was lovely. We had an evening meal the first night of our stay that was delicious and reasonably priced. The location is great and extremely handy for public transport. The railways station is literally next door and that is how we travelled. Only a couple of things to be aware of, the access stairs to the upstairs rooms are narrow and extremely steep.”

“Warm welcome upon check in, generous sized room and en-suite for solo traveller, comfortable bed, equipped with kettle, tea, coffee, etc. Very enjoyable dinner in-house and also breakfast. Staff were very helpful in recommending places to visit. Would be very happy to return.”
