The house inside was wonderful! Very clean and neat. The linens were soft and comfortable, snacks and access to fridge was a plus! The house on the outside was scarey, couldn't see the broken sign...almost didn’t want to go into the house. House manager was friendly!

The house inside is immaculate. Hospitality was great. Everything reminded me of the 19 century home mansions. Bed was comfortable. The entire house makes you feel like you were transported back to the 19th Century. I would love to come back again!

Charming B&B close to Kent State and Cleveland

I selected this lodging because it is literally the only place to stay in Ravenna, and because I like antiques. This B&B exceeded my expectations. It is lovely, comfortable, warm and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. I had fun exploring the rooms and taking in all the antique furniture and art and collectibles. It has clearly been renovated recently (bathroom) and it's well-maintained, with period details. It was very clean. I loved the plants in the common rooms too. My only regret was that it was too cold to enjoy the beautiful porches. I will return to enjoy them, in the future. Highly recommend this place!

We have been in Kent three times the past year and always stay at the Rocking horse. We love its vintage charm and beautiful quaint neighborhood. Bob is extremely thoughtful with all the extras he provides. We will be back.

My wife and I are both retired and had to travel from out-of-state a few weeks ago to Ravenna for a funeral and looked for a nice place to stay for two nights. The Rocking Horse Inn looked OK and so we rented it. I was a bit curious about the owner's statement that all reservations were non-refundable "for any reason." Really, for "any reason?" Our reservation asked if there were any "requests," and we only had one: We wrote that my wife has airborne allergies and cannot be around "any" scented cleaners or fragrances (like Febreze), etc. To our dismay, when we arrived the entire 1st floor was filled with fragrances (candles, scented outlets, etc.). When we went up to our room it was even worse, our whole room reeked. I tried to open the windows, but they were completely sealed shut by old paint - which I do believe is a Safety Code Violation! Also, it is interesting that many old homes (like the Rocking Horse) might use heavy fragrances to cover over mold or mildew toxins. For many, scents are enjoyable, but for many others they are toxic: https://seetheair.org/2024/05/09/beyond-the-pleasant-smell-the-hidden-dangers-of-air-fresheners-in-your-home/ We spoke with the owner and he told us that the only thing he did was to remove 2 candles from our room the night before we came, like that would help. We never received another return phone call or text, although we tried 5x. We recommend AVOIDING the Rocking Horse Inn!!!
