“Stayed here over the bank holiday as a family of 4. The hotel itself is nice and the outside space is green and relaxing. However, we were given a very hot top-floor room during 28°C weather, with no air conditioning and windows that barely opened. The fan provided did not help and none of us could sleep. This room really should not have been given to a family in such hot weather in the first place. At 2am we had to ask for another room, which meant moving tired children in the middle of the……

“There was nowhere to eat. We walked into the hotel restaurant at around 6pm. The restaurant was almost empty, but were told they can’t serve us as we didn’t have a reservation. We asked if we can get room service we weee told no. We asked if we can eat at the outside terrace bar, we were told that was closed. We told staff repeatedly the restaurant next door on the promaenade was no longer serving dinner and we would like to have dinner at the restaurant. We were told we should walk around 10……

“We loved our mini-moon at The Spread Eagle. The staff were kind enough to upgrade our room, offer us some fizz on the house and gave us cutlery and plates so we could enjoy a bit more wedding cake. I'm sure you don't have to be freshly married to enjoy your time at the hotel, it is a lovely space, the staff were brilliant and the room was comfortable and clean.
