“We decided to stay on Cormorant Island while doing a loop trip from Kamloops around the Discovery Heritage trail to Prince Rupert - ferry to p Port Hardy - then down Vancouver Island and back home through Vancouver. Alert Bay is unique with a rich cultural history. We did a hike - the tall tree hike and it was short but beautiful...as well as a beach walk on rhe north side of the island. The Nimpkish Inn was a wonderful place to stay. It is an older place but has charm! Very clean with friendly……

“Alert Bay is on a small island. The facility is centrally located with a restaurant and is adjacent to the RCMP station, liquor and grocery store. The amenities are great for families and it also has a beautiful view of the ocean. The owners were very accommodating and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. ”
