Pooor value very over priceand wrongly advertised
The location of this property enjoyed a privileged location overlooking the castle. However it was disappointing to enter the property through quite a shabby doorway from the Main Street. The property Was spread over 3 floors, which were linked by a very narrow spiral staircase. This was not made clear in the advert and would not suit elderly or disabled people. We took the property as it was dog friendly, quite the reverse, our dog is quite old and could not manage the very narrow staircase, so we had to carry her up and down. The property was in need of a good clean, cobwebs were everywhere, and the worktops were sticky, carpets stained badly on the landing. The fridge door handle also hanging off. The most alarming point was security, in short no security at all. You enter the property through a small wooden door with single glass and latched with only a basic Yale lock that barely caught the keeper. The glass can easily be broken to an opportunist to easily break in. The toilet floor was dirty and the extraction fan completely blocked with dust. The windows were filthy covered in birds droppings and cobwebs, especially the Velux skylight window. We paid a lot of money for 5 days, which should have been a 4 star property, there was no washing up liquid or dish cloth, the very basics were missing. This property could be good if it was painted, cleaned and maintenance done. The property was back to back with a pub, which played loud music until 1am Friday and Saturday.
