"Great stay, we arrived while the hotel waa experiencing a local power cut and the team on duty couldn't have been more helpful. It was all resolved quickly and we had a brilliant weekend. The spa was clean and well maintained, breakfast was well cooked and the hotel was spotless. We stayed in a loft room with a sauna, steam room and spa bath and it was gorgeous. Light and airy with lots of space, we'll definitely be back!"

"The room we stayed in over last weekend (hot weather weekend) we could not have the windows open because it had a wasp nest directly above the window in the guttering, I enformed them they told me what they had done and they were going to they kept me informed of every step which was fine With the weather being so hot it the room was a little unbearable at times during the night I know wasps do not come out at night, but they do early morning"

"This is a nice property in the Ambleside town centre and close to all shops and restaurants. The rooms are clean and spacious and provide tea and coffee. Staff were polite and helpful. There is also dedicated parking on site ( tight spaces). The hotel is about 10-15min walk to the marina and close to waterfalls and Rydal caves. Breakfast is decent -cereal and toast are on buffet but other items need to be ordered ( included in the breakfast cost) . Portion sizes are small . Coffee could be better ( no coffee machine). The property does not have a lift. There is no walk in shower (had bath tub with shower). Like most properties in Lake District, the rooms can be expensive during holidays."

"A beautiful hotel in a perfect location in Grasmere away from the more crowded areas of the south Lake District. The hotel is clean and well-maintained with helpful staff and a very welcome health spa with jetted pool, sauna and steam room. The location on a beautiful lake opposite the historic William Wordsworth Dove Cottage really could not be more ideal. A five star experience: we extended our stay due to the excellence of the hotel and it's ideal location."

"We were checked in to a small but perfectly formed double with a spacious ensuite. The room was pristine with lovely original features and sash windows, great to leave open during the hot bank holiday. Breakfast was plentiful with lovely options, full English, smoked salmon, scrambled egg, eggs benediction a really wonderful choice."
