“Lovely property and location. Everything you could possibly need in the property. Fan a bit loud in bathroom. Parking little tight when full but doable ”

“Bedroom wall had bad damp all over one wall which left a musty smell. Main room had only one blind which meant sun light woke me up at 4/30 am. Terrible mattress which was awful to sleep in. ”

“Lovely home within walking distance of central Ambleside and hiking trails. Great hiking very nearby home. Very clean - very well outfitted to be able to cook meals. Wifi also worked well. Highly recommend - you won’t be disappointed”

“This was a lovely space for our family of 4. The kitchen was generally well-equipped. Beds were warm and comfy. Check-in and parking instructions etc were clear. It was a good base for our Lakes adventure.”

“We visit the Lakes once a year, and we were so pleased we chose Martin's cottage this year which was perfect for the two of us. We had good comms with Martin before arrival, and was welcomed to the property by him upon arrival which was a nice touch. The cottage itself was comfortable, with everything we needed, and the location, on a side street in the middle of Grasmere, was perfect. Having off street parking was a big plus. We'd stay again, without a doubt, the next time we're in that area.”

Overall we had a great stay but there were teething troubles including finding and switching on the WiFi, hooking up the telly and making it actually work, switching on the heating and warming the apartment. On the plus side, once warm it was very comfortable...”

“The property was excellent. The drive is too narrow for big cars, but you are able to park off-road on the owners drive nextdoor. Poor communication from Cottage.com about access with keys.”

“Great central location. Property was well appointed and comfortable. We thought an earlier check in would have improved our experience as it was a very wet day and we were soaking. We didn’t find the cutlery drawer until the next day - we searched everywhere . We eventually rang up and we’re told it was in a hidden drawer . We are still laughing now - it is obvious now we know 😂”
