Tall pines surround this two-level cabin, where the living room opens onto a deck overlooking the Cougar Trail. Black Bear Bungalow sleeps 8 in three bedrooms and two baths, an 11-minute walk from Monte Verde Lake and a 7-minute drive (3.2 miles) from the ski area.

The main level opens from a tiled entry hall with room for boots and coats. The living room centers on a wood-burning stove, with seating for 6, including a three-seat reclining sofa and a two-seat sofa that pulls out to a full-size bed, plus a large ottoman and a flat-screen TV with Roku. The dining table seats 8, and the kitchen has full-size appliances, including a dishwasher and a glass-top electric range, plus bar seating for 2 and both Keurig and drip coffeemakers.

The primary bedroom is on the main level, with a queen bed, and its door closes it off from the living area. Across the hall, the main-level bathroom has a tiled walk-in shower, and the laundry room beside it has a stacked washer and dryer.

Stairs from the entry hall lead to the upper level, with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The second and third bedrooms each have a king bed and a private balcony. The second bedroom's balcony overlooks the Cougar Trail behind the house, and the third bedroom's faces the pines in front. The upper-level bathroom, between them, has a shower-tub combo.

The deck runs along the side and front of the living room, with a picnic table and views of the Cougar Trail, where deer and other wildlife often pass.

Pack and plays and high chairs can be requested for an additional fee, subject to availability.

OUTDOOR LIVING: Deck with a picnic table, balconies off both upper-level bedrooms, views of the Cougar Trail.
GENERAL: Wi-Fi, linens and towels, hair dryers, hangers, kitchen starter pack, soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. Pack and plays and high chairs can be requested for an additional fee, subject to availability.
LOCATION: 7 minutes' drive (3.2 miles) from the ski base area, 6 minutes' drive (2.4 miles) from the Angel Fire Country Club, and an 11-minute walk (0.5 miles) from Monte Verde Lake.
PARKING: Room for 3 vehicles in the driveway. The garage is not available to guests.
POOL AND FITNESS: Not on-site. The indoor pool and fitness center at the Angel Fire Country Club, 2.4 miles away, are open to guests for a daily, weekly, or monthly fee.

The indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center at the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort are reserved for Lodge and Eagle Wing Suites guests and are not included with this home.

WHAT TO KNOW:

Check-in is after 4 p.m. at the front desk of the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort. Please return keys and fobs to the front desk by 10 a.m. on check-out day.
This home has exterior wildlife cameras on the property. There are no cameras inside the home.
Angel Fire does not have residential trash pickup, so the housekeeping team removes trash after check-out. Please bag all trash and leave it inside the home, not outside or on the decks, where wildlife can get into it. If you need to remove trash during your stay, please take it to the Angel Fire Recycle Park, 27 Halo Pines Terrace.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere at this property, including decks and patios.
Black Bear Bungalow is a designated pet-friendly home. Up to two dogs are welcome for a $125.00 pet fee.
A 4WD or AWD vehicle, or chains, is required to reach this home during the winter months (November–March). If you are not used to winter driving, please be prepared for difficult conditions and use caution.
