“Very pleasant inn keeper. He was helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices were perfect whether you wanted a meal breakfast or something light. Rooms were clean. I worried about the stairs as I have difficulty climbing some stairs and these were not taxing on my knees, Appreciate the stay at The Old Rectory.”

“I booked 2 rooms, both of which were excellent, very clean and beautifully furnished, recently fitted bathrooms with excellent facilities. The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, they made us feel very comfortable in the beautiful location. We really enjoyed our pre dinner drinks by the open fire in the guests lounge and learning about the history as we explored the building. Delicious food, we met the chef who checked our exact needs. We could not find any faults at all with our stay……

“There were no disabled parking spots, only reserved ones for electric cars. I booked an executive room (112), and was surprised to note one of the windows looked onto the bin area and recycling, that has lights on most of the night and early morning noise. My bath had mould around the seals, and the bath plug had to be removed with a spoon, which dislodged more mould that floated in the bath. When I mentioned about changing my room before unpacking due to the view, there were no others……

“On arrival the owner was very helpful and explained they had just taken over . However, they were no serving food on a Sunday evening , which they could have let us know . No tv in the rooms . No hand soap and shower gel. Room was clean and nice and quiet .”

“Quiet and restful nights of sleep despite being a motorway services- you couldnt hear any traffic noise at all from the hotel. Staff were very friendly. No breakfast pptions but part of motorway services complex, so amenities nearby for any basic needs. We also had an afternoon tea booked for after our small wedding and this was excellent and so was the lovely Maria who served our champagne and made sure we had everything we needed. “I can’t fault the Sure Hotel in Lockerbie. A beautiful building, fantastic en suite room, very clean and modern. Or host, the manager Glen couldn’t have been more helpful. Plenty of free secure parking and we ended up taking a lovely stroll into Lockerbie for dinner. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel, great staff who are so helpful. We’ll definitely be going again. ”
