My husband and I were looking to get away for thanksgiving with our 2 dogs. One of our dogs is extremely anxious from abuse before we rescued her and it would be too stressful for her to be boarded over thanksgiving when kennels are full and extremely noisy. So we had to have a dog friendly rental.
It was a relief to find this unit that allows dogs. The location was fantastic in that it was about 1/2 mile walk to an awesome coffee shop, nice restaurant and also a sandwich/sub shop that was so good that we ate there multiple times. (There is a hill that you have to walk up/down for that walk to town.)
Our main goal was a change of scenery during Covid and to hike with the dogs. There are tons of trails nearby that you don’t even have to get on the Blueridge Parkway for (Shining Rock/Graveyard Fields was beautiful and easy on our one aging dog).
We also drove to Weaverville, Brevard for the NC Arboretum and Presnell’s Produce for farm fresh eggs and local cheese.
The apartment had every comfort we needed. The bed was comfy, we enjoyed the electric fireplace and the kitchen had a big coffee maker, toaster, blender, wine opener, pans etc.
If you forced me to pick one thing to improve I would say to get a 3M Command hook for the bathroom so that there was an easy place to hang a towel for when you take a shower but that is a tiny thing.
We really enjoyed our stay and the owners were awesome. We would gladly rent from them again. As a note, this is an apartment on the 2nd floor of a house, if you have difficulty with stairs, they rent the first floor as well. Reach out to the owner for that unit.
Thank you to the owner for allowing dogs!! We hope all renters with dogs keep their pet well behaved so that it isn’t ruined for everyone. 💙
