“The breakfast menu was very fresh. Did not do laundry . Room was clean. Statt very friendly.”

“We booked here for 8 days with our two teenage grandsons. The bathroom consisted of a shower and toilet and wasn’t even big enough to change your mind. There was two hooks right up against the shower but was pretty difficult to hang 4 towels. The sink was outside the bathroom and there was no place to hang a hand towel after washing your hands. The room had two queen beds and not much other space. There was no cleaning of the room in the entire time we were there. Housekeeping would pick up……

“The owners were not on site which I don't like but that's their business. The rooms were very crowded with furniture and decor items. It felt claustrophobic to me. Breakfast seemed like a Costco run: breads and muffins, cereal.”

“Had to ask for housekeeping to clean the room. The pool area was never monitored, as small kids vomited in the hot tub. As well the hot tub jets were out of service on 2 different occasions. Service at the restaurant was not the greatest. For the most part, my week went well, but this was a lot of issues for a 5 night stay.”

“A unique, and uniquely warm motel that is really not comparable to any other properties. The couple that owns the motel are the main highlight: you will struggle to find more gracious, hospitable, friendly and helpful hosts anywhere in Newfoundland. The facilities are lovely and very distinct. The meals we had were excellent, including their very special (and very abundant) Jiggs Dinner which they offer every Sunday starting around noon, in the motel's main dining facility. “We spent 3 nights in an ocean view suite with a hot tub. The view was amazing! The room was fully equipped with a kitchen and utensils. Entrance was by key pad so we didn’t need to check in at the front desk. The room, view and hot tub were absolutely beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay there. However, as another reviewer had pointed out, it seemed like we were in a VRBO property as no staff member stopped by to see if we needed anything, like more coffee, tea or towels, and there was……

Then we came back at the end of our trip for four nights and stayed in Port Royal room, and this one was much bigger with bigger bathroom. Both rooms were on the first floor. The manor was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of yogurt, muffins, cereal, as well as eggs freshly made with toasts and bacon or sausage. Juice, coffee, tea and milk.
