This was the largest house we could find for our group's dates in the outer banks. We loved our trip and this house was a big part of that. The pool was especially perfect. If you look at the matterport tour you can see that each of the bedrooms has an attached full bathroom. We didn't look carefully at this, so it was a great surprise. Also I would say that generally, the house was SO much better than the pictures showed. I was a little nervous about the living room/dining room/kitchen not being big enough for 14 people, but they were much larger than they seemed. The dining table was amazing and had 11 chairs + two barstools. The pool table was also a lot of fun and the drink fridge in that space was nice. The wraparound decks were lovely to enjoy the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The house is close enough to walk to the beach if you really want (about a mile). This wasn't possible for some of the people in our group, so we drove and there are several spots within a five minute trip.
There were a few things that we thought could be improved/added to make it perfect. The house only has a small charcoal grill without a cover (like one you'd find at a campground). We would have loved a larger gas or charcoal grill. It seemed like the pool would have been a natural place for this. We wanted to grill one night but just ended up cooking everything on the stove because doing it on such a small grill for 14 people would have been way too time consuming.
We had the maximum size for this place (14), so this may not apply to smaller groups, but we wished we had an air mattress. There are seven bedrooms, which is amazing, but five of them are single king/queen beds. A large portion of our group didn't make sense to share a bed (e.g., teenage siblings). A couple of people ended up sleeping on the couch to solve this but they were always woken up by people hanging out in the living room in the morning. An air mattress that we could have put on the floor in the pool table room would have helped solve this issue.
I was worried about the cleanliness of the house based on other reviews and this is definitely the thing that could use the most attention. I agree that the house could use a thorough, probably days long, deep clean. There were some trash and fish guts in the pool house. Some of the bedrooms had trash under the beds. The oven in the kitchen had dirty pans in it. Overall, it was mostly clean so we didn't feel the need to have someone come clean it and interrupt our stay.
A few other things: You'll need to bring/buy your own laundry and dishwashing detergent. I was only surprised because I've never rented a place where this was true. There are very few towels and linens (~2/room). There was only one kitchen towel!
Overall, an amazing place for a large group trip to the outer banks with a few minor flaws.
