"I got stuck at the Liberia airport and all the smaller hotels around were booked. Thank goodness the airport had Internet and I found this little gem. I got a cab which cost about $65 American and headed out there. Had a nice comfy little cottage but don’t expect a western chain hotel experience it’s more like going to summer camp. But it was super adventurous and fun. The people were warm and hospitable, and it was wonderful to be so close to nature. Next time I’ll consider this place and enjoy more of the adventure amenities like zip lining and horseback riding. I really did enjoy the mud bath and the natural geothermal pools they had. There also was a very lively pool with some bartenders who were making some outstanding cocktails. I got this virgin passionfruit drink that was just outstanding."

"Our stay at Rio Perdido Hot Springs Resort was exceptional from start to finish. The property itself is stunning. The architecture blends beautifully into the surrounding jungle, and the individual rooms tucked into the forest make the whole experience feel private, peaceful, and immersive in nature. The thermal river and hot springs were incredible. Having three different pools at varying temperatures was perfect—you could move between them depending on how hot you wanted the soak. Sitting in those pools surrounded by the canyon and forest was one of the most relaxing experiences of our trip. The spa massage was also outstanding. After a day of exploring the property and soaking in the springs, it was the perfect way to unwind. Food at the restaurant was another highlight. Every meal was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. It’s rare to find a resort where the food consistently matches the quality of the setting, but Rio Perdido definitely delivers. Overall, Rio Perdido strikes a rare balance: luxury accommodations, incredible natural surroundings, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. If you’re visiting Costa Rica and want something unique and memorable, this place is absolutely worth the stay."
