Very nice little property with great friendly staff. Not directly on the beach but it's a short easy walk away. My room was spacious and very comfortable. If you're looking for a beach front resort this isn't it, but if you want a large comfortable room on a nice quiet street this is a great property for you

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Great service, but could use some improvements
A decent stay. The biggest positive: the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Omar in particular was very helpful and provided great advice. The hotel itself could use some updates though. Several things in the room were not working (tv, refrigerator), the mosquito net had holes, and the water pressure and temperature were both low. The breakfast was just a hard boiled egg, some bread, and a hot beverage. There was also no bottled water in the room. The hotel didn’t offer any other food or beverage onsite, but options were available within a five-minute walk. The pool looked nice but was being painted and was out of service. A lot of potential, especially in an area with little mid-range hotel offerings.
Spacious room, cleaned every day, lovely staff and very friendly. Property is in a good position, 5 mins walk to beach. Would recommend and going back again in March.
Wir hatten ein 3 Bettzimmer bei Expedia reserviert. Das Hotel hat überhaupt keine 3 Bettzimmer. Wir mussten dann 2 Zimmer nehmen und nochmal bezahlen. das ist ärgerlich
This hotel is located in the residential area about a 5 minute walk from the Cape Point area of Bakau. It is situated over several floors. There is no elevator. The common areas have their own quaint regional ambiance. The rooms have air conditioning, TV, and mosquito netting over the beds. The wifi is good throughout the property. A continental breakfast is served. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a security guard at the main entrance.
Banjul is a complicated place for hotel selection. You either have high fancy tourist resorts or "not so fancy" lodges... There isn't a "business-style" hotel. Roc Heights falls into the second category. It's quite a nice and cozy lodge, but don't expect any "luxuries". Breakfast is quite simple, but it will get you on the road. Rooms are very spacious, but again, nothing really "sophisticated". But one thing for sure is unbeatable.. staff friendliness. Everyone at Roc Heights is great! Very friendly people. If you're staying for many days, I would suggest to stay business days here, and then go for the "fancy hotels" just for the weekend. Like most lodges, you don't have a traditional reception, and there is no food at the hotel (except for breakfast). They order from surrounding restaurants. You have interesting restaurants at walking distance, but you have to face 500m of dirt/sand road, so avoid classy shows.
The room was clean & very spacious plus a view over the pool from the balcony.
It's located in a quiet side road & only 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants & beach.
Breakfast is generous with cereals, fresh bread, eggs, juice + tea/coffee.
For me though it was the staff that made my stay extra special. Friendly & really helpful from arranging tour guides to general information.
Would stay here again.
Great guesthouse accommodation. Recommend for service, cleanliness and comfort. Good wifi and workspace in rooms. Rooms are very spacious. Continental breakfast with some local foods. Not a tourist area but mainly local and NGO community. Close to beach and a couple
of restaurants (10 min walk)
I only stayed two-nights in the hotel. Room was comfy and spacious. AC is a bit old but works fine. Breakfast was fine but no extra were proposed (e.g fried eggs). If you travel for business for a week, I would not recommend it particularly as it is a bit far away from everything.
My first time at Roc Heights and I will definitely go again next time I am in Gambia. Omar and his team ensured that everything was done to keep me happy in the hotel and safe outside as a solo woman. In a quiet location away from the tourists but near enough to the beach for a short wander, the hotel is a haven of peace with delightful gardens either to eat breakfast of just sit and relax after a day's work. Most of the guests are working so the place is empty during the day. I didn't try the swimming pool and I didn't see anyone else try it either. There is definitely an old fashioned country house party feel about the hotel with all guests friendly to each other at breakfast. Wi fi not bad but a local SIM card with data would be better.
