I decided to reward myself by staying at Shah Palace and I was not disappointed. The hotel was beautiful and conveniently located in the Old City within walking distance to most attractions in Baku. You can also take the Baku metro to reach places farther away. My stay included a nice breakfast and bottled water. Staff were so kind and helpful.

Room was clean, delicious breakfast served and consisted of many meals and drinks Young lady that worked there left a great impression she was the sweetest and prompt. It was a pleasure to come every morning and see smiling face. Front desk service was excellent. Location is great a few minutes away from boulevard, Nizami street . If ever come to Baku will definitely stay there.

We stayed here for the F1 and it was just a base to sleep in if I'm honest. It was one of the few reasonable priced hotels available when we booked and expected a certain level of comfort for our stay. The hotel itself shouldn't be a 4 star property it's 2 star at best. The rooms felt grimy even after cleaning. We had an awful smell of drains coming from the bathroom during our stay. Staff had basic English but it was difficult to communicate most of the time. Breakfast was very basic and not of great quality. Restaurants nearby though so there are other options available Normal prices probably reflect the quality of the hotel but as the F1 was on, the prices were massively inflated and it did make us feel that we hadn't got anywhere near value for money. Glad to leave if I'm honest
