This is my second time staying at Bath YMCA, the first time having a room to myself with an en suite bathroom. I like how the location is so convenient to everything in central Bath. The accommodations are comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it for the budget traveler, especially for long term stays. I was there for 12 days.
Front desk staff was awesome - he was super helpful and accommodating. Gave us some tips on places to go around the area.
Location was perfect, close to everything!
It was me and my friends first time staying in a hostel, the staff were friendly and understanding, the room was clean and we had a lovely view of the courtyard from the window , As it is in the city centre it is a bit noisy however it didn’t effect us sleeping I would definitely reccomend if your looking for a cheeper place to stay for a night or two .
Friendly helpful staff. Washrooms clean. Good canteen facilities . The only negative is there is no parking, apart from that excellent vale for the money you are payin.
My family and I spent two nights and had a great time at YMCA hostel. Excellent location walking distance from main tourist options. My 5yo daughter loved the área with toys and games. Definitely recommend it
The front desk staff were so friendly and very helpful. This place is very good value and so conveniently located. If you’re a light sleeper bring some ear plugs as the birds are early risers. We were overall happy with everything.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Good location, parking available nearby. Bathroom was adequate but not particularly clean or well serviced as one toilet was not bolted properly to the floor and moves…. Room was clean and beds comfortable.
Pros: Good location, clean room, nice breakfast
Cons: Service to be improved, sent 2 inquires before check in but no answer, a bit noise at night, a bit watery in the bathroom
Reasonably priced simple accommodation near centre
Although a hostel, it offers single and other private rooms, which was my case. The room was big enough with a few hangers, a chest of drawers, a lamp, an armchair and washbasin. The toilets and showers are shared in sufficient numbers for both sexes. There us a huge kitchen/canteen and a common room.on the ground floor. The staff I met were all smiling and helpful.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hostel was clean and tidy. Great location for exploring the city of Bath.Lots of noise outside, but in a city centre on a Saturday night that was to be expected. Take earplugs! Otherwise fabulous, would definitely stay again.
Super nice and friendly check in! Gave a great intro of the city Bath. Single room is clean and comfy. Kitchen has all I needed for cooking a meal. Super market is just 1-2 blocks away for everything
Management was so helpful. Bernie manger went out of his way in answering any questions or if we needed help with something. Great breakfast on weekends. Its an easy walk to Abby and Baths.

Disliked: Amenities
The shower was disgusting, there was black mold. The bedspread had blood on it an it was not from me. The beds were so uncomfortable.
The breakfast was ok that is offered, the staff was nice. It’s 2.50 for a towel if you don’t have one. There are lots of older folks that stay there.
Great location and friendly and very helpful staff. Facilities especially guest kitchen need updating. No fridge available. Rooms weren't properly cleaned (crumbs under bed) and bedding stained. Rooms could do with updating, mattresses terrible and bed shoke every time someone moved in their sleep (we had bunk beds). You get what you pay for I suppose.
Ngeatives:
Not good air circulation in a room.
When coming the bed cover was not covered.
There is no hot water for taking shower.
Positives:
Price is very cheap
Located in city centre and near to public facilities and super market.
Please make sure and find some videos before booking this. I did not expect as terribel as like that.
At least maintain clean and provide key for locker to save valuable things.
We arrived before check in and were happy and fully expecting to put our bags in storage. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind, friendly and helpful. After we used the communal toilets in reception downstairs, which were pretty spacious and very clean, the receptionist had arranged for us to be let in our room early rather than store our bags. He was very informative and maintained a smile throughout which was lovely. Our room was well cleaned, including the en-suite we booked. Although the service, rooms, and cleanliness were brilliant, the walls are thin and so if struggle to sleep, bring earplugs like we did.
Overall a really pleasant first experience in a hostel - I’d do it again! Thank you!
Convenient location, good showers, but some issues
It’s a good hostel for a short stay, the showers seem to be brand new and the place is quite clean.
There was a really weird smell in my dorm though (it was a mixed dorm) and some people were REALLY noisy. One of them would pace back and forth between the bunks in the morning, which was bizarre. Some had had too much to drink and others seemed quite hostile. As if other people had it easier than them… Just because people don’t complain it doesn’t mean they have a cushy life.
One of my gripes about the hostel is that some of the areas (the dorms, the shower rooms, the kitchen) are closed at certain times of the day. It does make it easier for them to clean however if you forgot something in your room, or get up too late to take a shower, it’s irritating.
