I had a reservation to stay at this hotel from July 11th to July 12th in a room with two double beds. Upon arrival, the check-in process was quite slow, as the person who typically manages the hotel was out of town, and her sister was overseeing operations in her absence. She mentioned that she was not familiar with the check-in process and informed me that if I was accidentally overcharged, I could call the following day for a refund. Additionally, I was informed that there were no more rooms with two double beds available, as I had originally booked, but I agreed to take a room with one bed since she was kind and accommodating during check-in.
The issue arose the next morning during checkout. I understand that checkout is at 11:00 a.m., but I accidentally overslept and stepped out at 11:20 a.m. As I exited, the person managing the hotel was outside and began tapping her wrist repeatedly to indicate that I was late, doing so in a manner that came across as rude and unwelcoming. When I approached to return the room key, she stated firmly that checkout was at 11:00 a.m. While I did apologize, I believe that, considering I was not provided with the room type I originally reserved, a 20-minute delay in checkout should have been handled with more courtesy.
