Twelve of us from three generations gathered for a weekend to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday, and had a great time!
The house was cozy and perfectly suited such a large group - the large living room, snug, and upstairs sitting area gave us options for activities and hanging out, and the bedrooms were all very comfortable and decorated to exactly my taste ;). The kitchen was extremely well-appointed (we cooked all our meals, and some of them were rather complicated - there was even a cheesecake, baked in the gas oven) and being able to eat all together at a 12-person dining room table felt luxurious and festive. The two full bathrooms are crisp and new and were quite sufficient, even for such a large group.
At first we were a bit worried about the stairs (one of the staircases seemed a bit steep) but everyone was fine, including the 80-year-old and the 6-year-old twins.
We enjoyed the fire pit in the yard and a few yellow pear tomatoes from the garden. We were sad to be unable to add eggplants to our meal plan, as there were plenty of ripe ones hanging ready. The garden was just delightful! And one of my cousins noticed many indigenous plant species around the property, and wondered whether they'd been added intentionally.
The house feels like a home - Bertrand has done a wonderful job furnishing and decorating. He was also very communicative and easy to reach when I had any questions. We would love to return!
