The house is roomy and luxurious.
The great room is very open and great for entertaining. The kitchen was well stocked.
The bedrooms each have en-suite bathroom.
We had a wonderful time and have saved the property for next time.
My family of 8 stayed at this property and wish we could have stayed longer. I don’t have one complaint except for the spa wasn’t working, but we were told this prior to our arrival. Amazing home, great amenities, and I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Fabulous stay at Big Sky!
What a wonderful property! The house itself is everything and more! I now call it heaven! Thanks for hosting us, we all thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The pac man table is the cherry on the sundae!
I have nothing but positive things to say about this gorgeous property. Check in with easy and the home was spotless upon arrival. We never left the property because we had our own private paradise and everything we needed! My 4 year old had the time of his life building snowmen in the “backyard” (private forest!) and the hillside was perfect for sledding. We cannot wait to book again! Perfect for large groups (up to 14 comfortably). Our family of 6 (including my parents) felt like royalty in this massive home.
The cabin was absolutely beautiful and we would stay here again if the cleaning of the cabin improved. The only negative comments we have was finding chocolate marijuana in the fridge (thankfully my kids didn't try to eat it) as well as an unused blunt in my children's bed (age 3 and 8) that was hidden away - we found only when placing the bed back into the couch on the loft area. Lastly, the oven in the kitchen was completely dirty upon arrival and we found a random shirt in the master bedroom upstairs on the floor.
We had a group of 9 adults staying with us for a summer weekend. A lot of vacation homes we looked at had enough beds, but not adequate seating to accurate the full group at once. This home not only had great space with 3 king beds included (instead of a bunch of bunk rooms for little kids), but had 3 dining areas that could accommodate us all at once, as well as enough living room seating for everyone to comfortably hang together for a game night after a long day on the lake.
The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes and cookware, which was great for our group as we all love to cook together. Be prepared to pack your basics like cooking oils and spices.
One thing I would note especially for a summer trip is that only the upstairs bedrooms have A/C, the lower ground floor only has heating. During the heat of summer, that can be an issue for finicky sleepers.
We adored the house and really enjoyed our stay. It's the perfect home to host.
I stayed with family- and this place was great for separate families who want to stay together. All rooms are masters. My sister has 2 children so she stayed in the room with the king and futon with her family of 4. My family of 3 stayed in the other upstairs master. Love the king bed! Beds were comfy. All the bathrooms are very nice too! I love that the downstairs is so open, you feel like your with everyone even if your in different sections. The one downfall was that they didn’t have pots, like to cook spaghetti sauce. We had to purchase 2 pots since we had a big party and the local store only had smaller pots-and that was $80 l, then come to find out the can opener was broken, so back to the store for that! An up side was that even though we ran out of propane in the middle of grilling our chicken, there was a replacement waiting and that was an easy fix. Overall, we would definitely stay again!
Overall the stay was great. We would definitely consider rebooking this home. Our kids and adults in our family enjoyed this home.
However i do have pointers to make this home a 5 star. The fact that this location is pet friendly cause this home to have a lot of pet hair throughout the living room area (throw blankets, throw pillows, etc). The house had plenty of extra blankets and pillows in the closet, which i loved and worked out for us. However, the extra blankets just didn’t seem “fresh.” The quality of the toilet paper and paper napkins in the kitchen are poor quality and is not consistent with the quality of the house.
During the booking process i had some concerns. After completing my booking process, i sent a message through the VRBO application and after 48 hrs i did not receive a response. VRBO suggests that if one does not hear back from a property after 48 hrs we should reconsider our booking. I had to call VRBO and explained the lack of communication. VRBO finally got me in contact with the property management.
After I explained to the property management that communication was key as this was our first trip to Big Bear and i was traveling with small children i had several questions to make this a successful vacation for my family.
Booking management did not seem to care about my concerns and were quick to respond if i wanted to cancel i could but would not receive a full refund.
This made me feel undervalued as a customer and did not feel that the property management had the customers best interest in mine.
The quality of the home made up for this big hiccup.
Loved our stay! The home is beautiful and peaceful neighborhood. The only complaint is on hot days the AC unit is only upstairs but it does have a big open floor plan so I understand why it’s harder to keep cool but the tops that had the AC was freezing and downstairs was hot so the people that slept in the downstairs bedrooms were very warm on an 80 to 85° day. But loved the home and our stay!!!
This home was perfect for our 3 day getaway with kids and grandkids. Upscale quiet neighborhood, fantastic Great Room, good floor layout, all new construction (2018), modern fixtures and amenities, short 10 minute drive to town and skiing but away from the crowds. Perfect!
The open concept allowed for interaction plus freedom to do your own thing. Great setting on very quiet street . Perfect for stargazing as there are no street lights and little ambient light. Loved the fire pit. The owners have made this the perfect vacation rental.

YOU HAVE TO BRING YOUR TRASH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE AND DRIVE IT 15 mins away.
Sunday: we arrived and the place had obviously been cleaned (on the surface). However, as we started to open up the house (windows and doors) we discovered that the astronomical cleaning fees did not include the inside of the windows etc. as each window had no less than 15 large dead bugs. As I tried to remove all the dead bugs - we quickly understood they had been there so long they were turning to dust. Literally dust... imagine doing that in 11 rooms. I have photos and video.
I called the property service to advise that I had just done and hour and half of cleaning just to be able to open the doors and windows. I was told that the cleaning manager and fee resolution manager had my info and would call me back the next day.
Monday: we discovered the freezer was not working because our breast milk had thawed, ice melted, ice cream - basically all the freezer food we had just bought for the week - wasted. I called the maintenance number and if the call wasn’t so funny I would have been livid!
An older woman answered (it was after hours) and asked where I was calling from. She then asked “what the hell number did you dial?” I gave her the number to which she replied “that’s Weird - they didn’t tell us about that number.” I guess all numbers go to a central line. She told me someone would be out the next day to fix the freezer.
930pm that same night. The baby, dogs, and adults were all sleeping when we get a knock at our door. Now everyone including the baby is awake. It’s a guy with two coolers and 4 bags of ice for our freezer stuff. While it was nice - the freezer stuff had already thawed, breast milk wasted, no one bothered to let us know they were coming in the first place. Also - still no call from the resolution manager for the cleaning issue.
Tuesday: freezer maintenance shows up and “fixed” the freezer! Still no call from the resolution desk.
Wednesday- freezer is still broken. They sent someone out that night to “fix” the freezer. Guy showed up to turn off the freezer alarm only. Needless to say - we had already done that.
Thursday - I called to speak with the resolution manager again and was told that she had my info and would contact me - to this day still no call.
Friday - we left a day early as we were over it. We didn’t have a working freezer the entire time. People showed up unannounced. Bring your own trash bags!
