Great Weekend in Big Bear

Perfect little spot in Big Bear

Great Weekend Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great family weekend getaway. The cabin was extremely clean and comfy. Our 3 year old loved the bunk beds! Only downfall is the TV in the downstairs bedroom wasn't connected to a cable box but it wasn't a big deal. We'll definitely be staying here again.

Holiday trip

I was so impressed how clean it was. Very spacious as well. There were 3 diff ways to get in the house so kids enjoyed hide n seek and just running around. One thing tho, We cooked a lot and i was prepared & brought my own food containers for leftovers. I dont think i saw any at the cabin. Other than that, beautiful home away from home. Definitely wanna stay here again.

BEAUTIFUL STAY AND FRIENDLY STAFF

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was gorgeous and the top floor bedroom has 2 skylights. The hot tub was our favorite part of the stay and the neighboring folks were helpful and friendly. There was an office emergency on the date of our stay and I was contacted with plenty of time and given different check in instructions which was very nice of them to do. I wasn’t inconvenienced one bit and our entire party had a blast, highly recommend !

Housekeeper needs to be fired. Filthy!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have rented a lot of homes and I have NEVER arrived to a home where I needed to clean it. The housekeeper needs to be fired and this so called “quality check” before arrival is a joke. Stains on sheets, dog hair in the beds, dirty bath mat, dirty dishes, towels were literally thrown in closets, dust on nightstands, just disgusting! Kitchen had NO counter space and cupboards were full of previous renters foods that had gone bad. Oh and not to mention I found a camera hidden behind the curtain! It was facing outside but it had audio on it so I’m seeking contemplating seeking legal advice on this. I was not advised of this before arrival.

Ok stay

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cute little cabin. Check in was so bizarre being in the jaccuzzi store with rude, young people that made us wait over 10 minutes to get the process started. Pictures make the cabin look much bigger, deceiving. It’s in a lovely neighborhood, but they need to clean up the property! Although we paid a hefty cleaning fee, it was not as clean as I’d like. The carpets weren't even vacuumed, as i have a baby that is crawling. The kitchen was tiny, but we made it work. The kids enjoyed the hot tub, but the control to turn off the bubbles did not work. The upstairs room has skylights to wake you up at the crack of dawn, 545 am! The upstairs shower door wouldn't close, so I showered in the cold, with the glass door wide open. I wished there were seating on the upstairs balcony, it would have been used more. All 3 beds were extremely uncomfortable! The couch was filthy with crumbs in the cracks while I was looking for a lost object. The sliding glass door and screen were a pain to use. The cabin was ok for the money we paid, but we will be getting something nicer, bigger, cleaner next trip.

Satisfied with a few minor issues

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First of all, the property management company is amazing (thanks so much for your support, Judy)! It’s rather unusual to start the review with praises to the property management company (and it’s a first for me), but it’s true. We were staying there during the biggest snow storm in the history of Big Bear in the last 30 years and the company went an extra mile to make sure that we felt supported. So, now a few positive highlights: The house has a hot tub, which we enjoyed. It has a washer and dryer, which was great. It also has 2 fire places - one in the living room (which we used) and one in the upstairs bedroom (which we did not use). Four adults and 1 child stayed comfortably in the house, which has 3 bedrooms, one bathtub and two showers. We did not do much (the slopes, the Zoo, and the Italian restaurant that we wanted to check out were all closed due to the snowstorm, so we were mainly stuck in the house) but we focused on the positives: we were surrounded by magnificent nature, beautiful scenery and fresh air, and we had a working grill. As far as the minuses go, we were not particularly picky, but the cleaning of the house was lacking (we moved the couch to retrieve an item that we dropped, and found a bunch of toys from the previous occupants and a pile of dust that looked a million years old). We hope that it is an unusual situation because of the snow storm (we booked the same day as we arrived, so we were very understanding), but we did not appreciate paying the cleaning fee as this was not the only example. A separate issue was the quality of the mattresses. They were extremely SUPER SOFT (I can’t empathize this enough). It’s neither a negative or a positive, as we all have our preferences, just something for people to know about if they prefer firm mattresses like we do. Useful tip: if you are visiting in the winter, put chains on your tires before you start driving up the mountain

Perfect fall get-away with the best hot tub

We planned on coming to big bear for oktoberfest this year and wanted to find the perfect cabin, THIS WAS THE PLACE. The rooms are extremely nice, you walk in, have a big living room and kitchen to your right, a sliding glass door in the back that leads you to the first part of the deck with the BBQ, and then down stairs to the hot tub. To your right is a hall with a bathroom and shower, a middle room that sleeps 2, downstairs room that sleeps 4 with an attached bathroom/shower/laundry, and then an upstairs master bedroom that sleeps 2 with an attached bathroom. Very comfortable beds with warm blankets, the showers were perfect (especially the downstairs room with 2 shower heads) Furniture and décor is very cabin-y feeling, really makes you feel like you're away from it all, and out of the average neighborhood. One of the best parts is the town is a 2 minute drive down the road, and the hiking trails are literally a 30 second walk from the front door, location is perfect for everyone. FIREPLACES were some of the best we've ever had, especially in the master bedroom. Having a fire place in the bedroom and living room really brings the cabin vibes full circle. The open ceiling windows were also amazing, when it gets dark you can see the trees and stars. Out of everything this amazing cabin had to offer though, the best thing was probably the hot tub. This monster of a tub can comfortably fit 7-8 people. we were all over 5'5 the tallest being 6'4. We will definitely be coming back to this spot, we love this place, and everything it has to offer. All of us are in our mid to late 20s, but again this place is just perfect for everyone.

Beautiful home! Cozy and comfortable!

We loved this house! Very nice inside! We really liked the comfort of the living room. It had plenty of seating for everyone, it was situated so we could all converse easily, see the tv, and enjoy the fire! There was a little bar area that was nice for setting up drinks and bar ware. The kitchen was very small but we didn’t do any cooking so it wasn’t an issue. The bedrooms were all decent sized and spaced separately from each other. All the bathrooms were really nice too. We enjoyed the hot tub! It was clean, hot, and roomy! We would definitely stay here again!

I spent about 2 hours driving store to store looking for a blender. The second reason was for the hot tub. It was amazing except for the amount of bees and wasp that came out of the pump/filter system once the jets came on. Other than those two things it was again, amazing. I just hope that the next time we return we will be able to use the grill. We weren’t able to due to the wildfires.

Cleanliness and Customer Service are Seriously Lacking!

Reviewer Comments: My family and I arrived to what we envisioned to be a quaint and clean cabin, only to be disappointed. The pictures on the website do not depict the reality of the home, and the lack of cleanliness. Upon entry into the cabin, we were immediately disappointed. The furniture was old, shabby with holes and dirty looking, the dining room table was wobbly and seemed ready to fall apart, there was paint chipped off the dining room walls and the surfaces and floors were dusty. The sofas were old, outdated, and made of cloth, which is not a good idea for a rental cabin since it can't be cleaned well. They had crumbs, stains, and what looked like dog hair on them. As a result, we had to place towels on them so that we could feel somewhat comfortable sitting on them. There was a layer of dust on the coffee table, dining table, bedroom nightstands, all the baseboards and moldings and other surfaces. There were mouse droppings on one of the windowsills in my son's bedroom, and one bathroom appeared to have some black mold issues. Some of the towels had yellow stains on them, and the bathrooms were only lightly cleaned. Dishes in the cabinets still had food particles on them and none of the glasses or silverware looked like they had been washed properly, if at all. The exterior had issues as well. The patio table looked like it had been wiped down with a dirty rag with the streaks left for all to see. The BBQ was filthy and belonged in the trash rather than on the patio. The hot tub had bugs in it, and not surprisingly, no skimmer was provided. Considering we are in the middle of a pandemic, we expected the cleaning protocols to be at a heightened level, however that was evidently not the case. My family and I immediately went out to purchase cleaning supplies so that we could stay there without feeling uncomfortable. In the end, I had to argue with the property manager as to why this was a problem. After multiple calls to them, I had to negotiate a partial refund. Never again!
