"House warm and welcoming upon arrival. It was 67 degrees inside, and mid-30's outside. Neighborhood is very dark! but the porch light assisted us to see the home from the street. Beds were clean and a good size w/plenty of pillows. Tons of towels as well. Hot water is very hot and doesn't take long! So be cautious (caught me off guard a few times) but never ran out of hot water. The ability to adjust the heat in different rooms was helpful, as there are 3 mini-splits. Outdoor units vibrate the walls but didn't bother us. We did use the gas stove. It puts out a lot of heat. Was nice to enjoy dinner and watch a movie by the stove. "

Cottage #2 with a Lake and Creek, 15 mi to Lassen NP
10/10 Excellent
"We absolutely loved our stay at Bigfoot Lodging Cottage #2 It’s a very authentic cabin in the woods experience. The original vintage wood interior and squeaky wood floors added a lot to the ambiance. Plenty of outdoor space for grilling steaks or making campfire s’mores. The grounds are fun and funky with lots of interesting things to see including a pond and creek. The family that runs it is warm and accommodating with a small store that sells drinks and snacks. Just a short drive to Lassen. We would definitely stay here again. "

"This was such a great place, one of our favorites cabins ever. Beautiful place back in the woods and a short drive to Lassen NP. Great little amenities that made us feel right at home...we loved the attention to detail with the small little snacks and such. There is a convenience store in Shingletown that has basic supplies, also a cafe at Manzanita Lake. Thanks!"
"A lovely pet friendly stay very close to Lassen NP. This was the most well stick kitchen I have seen recently in a rental. It was dark and quiet at night. We loved it!!"

"The house we stayed in is very comfortable and clean. Lots of room. Our host is super nice and responsive. Locals are very friendly, always waved at us when we’re driving on the street.
Lots of places to see close to Shingletown. Burney Falls, Cinder Cone, Manzanita, Helen and Emerald lakes. Lassen Volcanic hike, Bumpass Hell, mudpots, Subway lave tube etc."
Photos displayed in this historic museum provide a window into the park’s appearance during the tumultuous eruptions and rock avalanches of the early 1900s.
Fascinating volcanic rocks suggest an enormous debris avalanche shook the area just a few centuries ago. Swim in the lake and hike around the mountains.
