McArthur Manor wasn’t designed on paper as a venue for groups; it has been shaped by the groups who have actually stayed here.

For more than a decade, every retreat, off-site, celebration and gathering has taught us something. We’ve listened, changed layouts, added facilities, moved things around, improved the way spaces connect and continually refined how we look after people.

The result isn’t simply a large house that happens to accommodate groups. It’s a Manor that has evolved around how groups actually meet, eat, relax, celebrate and spend time together — and around the things organisers need to make all of that feel effortless.

And we’re still tinkering. If guests show us a better way of doing something, there’s a very good chance it will be different by the time they come back.

• 16 individually styled bedrooms, all with their own private en-suite bathroom.
• 12 noon check-in, so arrival day actually feels like part of the stay.
• 4pm checkout, so departure day does too.
• Daily guest-attendant / housekeeping support to help with washing up, light housekeeping, resetting spaces and the practical things that otherwise become the organiser's job.
• 140m² McArthur Pavilion, ready for meetings, workshops, yoga, games, dinner, films, karaoke, dancing or a proper party.
• 150" projection screen, AV, sound system, karaoke setup, DJ lighting, disco ball and a substantial collection of games equipment.
• Your own traditional private pub, including beer pumps, alongside the Lounge and Pavilion.
• Fully equipped commercial catering kitchen plus a second prep kitchen.
• Commercial-grade Wi-Fi throughout.
• On-site parking for 22 cars, with additional managed event parking by arrangement, plus EV charging.
• Bedding, towels, toiletries and the everyday details you would expect to be ready when you arrive.


THE HOUSE IS DESIGNED TO KEEP PEOPLE TOGETHER

Large-group houses often solve the sleeping problem and create another one: everyone disappears into different rooms.

The Manor works differently. The Lounge, private pub and Pavilion sit together and flow into one another, with the patio just beyond. During the day the Pavilion can be a strategy room, workshop, yoga studio or presentation space; later the same room can become dinner, casino, cinema, ceilidh or dance floor.

There is enough space to spread out, but the building naturally brings people back together. That's the bit that's difficult to show in a floorplan — and one of the things our guests notice most once they're here.


FOR RETREATS, OFF-SITES & GROUP PROGRAMMES

The Manor works particularly well when the reason for coming matters as much as the accommodation.

Run presentations or workshops in the Pavilion, use the Lounge and dining rooms for smaller conversations, take a break in the garden, then move straight into drinks, dinner or entertainment without loading everybody back onto a coach.

The 150" screen, sound system and commercial Wi-Fi are already here. So are the pub, games, lighting and flexible furniture. Much of what a conventional venue would ask you to hire in separately is already sitting in the building waiting to be used.

That means the organiser can concentrate on the retreat, meeting or programme itself rather than spending half the stay managing the venue around it.


AS MUCH OR AS LITTLE HELP AS YOU WANT

Some groups want the keys, a stocked kitchen and the freedom to run the house themselves. Others want us involved from the first planning call until the coach pulls away. Most sit somewhere happily in between.

You'll deal with people who actually know the house and your plans. We can help with rooming, menus, transport, suppliers, timings, activities, dining setups and the little logistical problems that appear when you're organising a group.

For overseas organisers in particular, we can effectively become your people on the ground in Scotland. Rather than coordinating drivers, caterers and activity providers from another country, give us the moving parts and we can help join them together.

The aim is simple: your guests should feel looked after, while the organiser gets to be a guest too.


MAKE THE STAY YOUR OWN

There is no fixed McArthur Manor package. Optional experiences and services can be added individually or woven into a fuller itinerary. These are arranged separately and subject to availability, but possibilities include:

• Breakfasts, relaxed suppers, formal dinners and full-board catering
• Bartenders, cocktails, drinks receptions and kegs for pulling your own pints in the pub
• Highland Games, axe throwing, combat archery and laser clay shooting
• Whisky tastings and Scottish history evenings
• A traditional Burns Supper, including the possibility of making it a properly Scottish occasion with the local Clan Chief
• Ceilidhs, pipers and other Scottish entertainment
• Casino nights and murder mysteries
• Falconry experiences
• Spa and wellness treatments
• Golf, cycling, kayaking and other outdoor activities
• Distilleries, castles, Highland excursions and private day trips
• Airport transfers, coaches, minibuses and local transport
• Bespoke themed evenings and plenty of ideas that probably won't appear on a normal holiday-let checklist

Or do none of it. Light the fire, open the pub, order food, play pool and enjoy having the house to yourselves.


THE 4PM CHECKOUT REALLY DOES MATTER

This sounds like a small thing until you've experienced the usual alternative.

There is no 9am alarm because everybody has to be packed and out by 10 or 11. Have breakfast properly. Talk about the night before. Make lunch. Play one last game of pool. Find the missing charger. Pack without throwing everything into the nearest bag.

Your final day is still part of the stay, not an evacuation.

And because check-in is from 12 noon, the same is true at the other end: you're not losing most of arrival day waiting until late afternoon to get the keys.
