"We stayed at the Center Hotels Arnarhvoll for 3 nights. The location was excellent and we loved the views from the hotel, particularly from the Sky lounge on the top floor, where breakfast was served and where you can get drinks in the evenings. The hotel was good value. And the staff at the front desk were excellent -- super helpful. However, we found our room to be inconveniently small (you had to squeeze by the corner of the bed just to get around it) and the mattress was not that great. If you have no back issues, and you avoid the smallest room, I would definitely recommend it."

"Beautiful property and an excellent restaurant, but the overall hotel experience was deeply disappointing. The staff came across as rude, unhelpful, and overly robotic rather than genuinely hospitable. For a hotel marketed as five-star luxury, the amenities and service felt surprisingly underwhelming. What truly crossed the line, however, was my mother’s experience at the spa. My mother is a very small woman and booked a massage during our stay. Despite repeatedly asking the masseur to use less pressure, he continued being excessively rough to the point that the massage left her in immense pain and covered in large bruises across her back. When we initially approached the staff about the situation, all they did was send up a tiny container of peppermint balm for her muscles, which honestly felt more like a dismissive brush-off than genuine concern for what had happened. When we approached the staff at checkout, they responded in the same robotic fashion with plastered-on smiles, rehearsed apologies, and absolutely no meaningful resolution. They refused to remove the massage from the bill and instead simply stated that they were “investigating the case.” The entire response felt cold, performative, and completely lacking in empathy or accountability. A nice restaurant and an abundance of uptight staff do not make a true five-star experience. Unfortunately, this hotel felt much closer to a three-star property, and I would NEVER choose to stay here again."

"Highly recommend this property! I travel a LOT and I can say the women who work at this hotel are exceptional ( the man at the front....not so much :-) The room is very clean and simple. I had a very large shared balcony. I do travel with two portable door alarms, so situations like this are not a concern to me. The balcony has a good view of the volcanic mountains in the distance. You're given a PHONE when you arrive which you carry with you as you travel around. You can call the front desk or other rooms or taxis with the phone! What a great idea! All the taxi drivers know where the ALDA is. It's also attached to a restaurant on one side and STARBUCKS on the other! It's on a main street with exceptional shopping and restaurants! Of course there is a FREE water station downstairs to fill up your bottles with Icelandic water. The front desk called my taxis for me, and even assisted on some of my travel planning. My first time in Iceland and I will now be back and staying at the ALDA again!"

"Staff and facilities were excellent. Breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. Excellent buffet breakfast with a variety of food to choose from. Staff there and in general were always helpful with a smile. I would recommend Reykjavík Saga to anyone who wants excellent hospitality, friendly staff and well maintained and clean facilities."
