Disappointed with service this time around

We’ve stayed here a few times and has generally been a good experience but did not appreciate that we arrived the following morning after our check in date (hotel was aware, and had paid the night) and our room was booked to someone else. Plus when trying to ensure our guests would be comfortable on arrival they responded with an attitude, as if we’d done something wrong. Disappointed.

Looks can be deceiving

Both the exterior and interior of the main building is impressive. Unfortunately this is where the 5 star rating ends. • Rude and arrogant receptionist who made us feel that we were intruding. Other hotel reviews on the internet, this has been reported by several other guests. • We were allocated rooms outside of the man building in the so-called “penthouses”. • The rooms are separated by dry walling which was not well insulated. This resulted is hearing every movement from neighbours next door, including bowl movements. This resulted in interrupted sleep. • The bottom floor of the “penthouse” is occupied by permanent loud and noisy tenants. Their smoke travelled into our my room. Smoke travelled all the way up into my rooms. Their dog also barked while we were trying to sleep. • We experienced an extended power outage. Although the main house was supported by a generator, the “penthouses” were not. Candles were provided, but no matches or lighter. Chargeable torches or at least matches to light candles, I believe should have been a standard in all rooms. • The booking websites offer free Wi-Fi – it does not state that it is available only in the main building. The booking websites only show pictures of glamorous rooms. However, looks can be deceiving. The main house might be 5 star but the penthouses definitely not. Above all, sleep quality was impaired due to inadequate room facilities and noisy neighbours.

OK für eine Nacht

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Unser Aufenthalt im Altissimo Guesthouse stand unter keinem sehr guten Stern. Wir hatten Schwierigkeiten, das Hotel zu finden (s.u.). Gegen 18:00 Uhr hatten wir dann eingecheckt und mussten feststellen, dass die Klimaanlage tagsüber nicht angeschaltet war. Dadurch war das Zimmer unerträglich heiß. Selbst als wir um 21:00 Uhr vom Abendessen zurückkamen, war es noch zu warm im Zimmer. Sehr unschön war, dass wir beim Frühstücken so lange warten mussten. PS: TomTom-Nutzer sollten vorsichtig sein. Am besten mit einem anderen Kartendienst quer-checken. Das Navi hat uns nicht zum Ziel geführt. Das Ziel liegt ca. 700m weiter.

Magnificint Boutique Guesthouse

Altissimo Guesthouse is a wonderful boutique almost hotel. Rooms are very comfortable with all the main facilities. Rooms are air conditioned and good bathrooms with separate shower and bathroom. It has a mini bar fridge as well. Breakfast is supplies, supper only on request. It runs an honesty bar and in general well controlled and quite. The one night apparently there was a noisy group at the honesty bar and if you had a room nearby (Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven) you may have heard this. Other rooms like Vivaldi, Paganini, Bach and Chopin is further away. There are also external rooms which are apparently even quitter but I did not see them. In general a wonderful professional experience. The only possible negative is there could be more plugs for businessman. Otherwise I will be definitely back and have already booked again. If you do not have a car, note tis is on the outskirts of town where take aways, etc are not in walking distance.

Haben eine Nacht dort verbracht. Das Zimmer war groß und in Ordnung, jedoch das Hotel relativ neu und die Decke hatte schon Risse und der Boden war schief. Frühstück war gut.
