"Gorgeous hotel with lovely, polite & enthusiastic staff! We were upgraded to a fabulous suite & the parking options were great. We loved this unique boutique hotel which has been decorated & designed with care & passion. Local transport was brilliant & Southsea is a hidden blossoming gem which we’ll be back to see next year! We will of course be checking back in to the Clarence or one of its sisters. Thank you for making our stay so memorable x"

Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Perfect location for many of Portsmouth attractions all within walking distance, friendly & helpful staff, great breakfast with plenty of healthy options as well as full English, & offer a takeaway service if your to rushed or have attractions planned. Hotel is spotless & we found it great value for money.
Would definitely pay a return visit & recommend to family & friends"
"Room was clean, spacious and nicely furnished, modern but in keeping with the age and style of the building. Breakfast was fantastic, with a really nice menu to choose from.
All the staff we met were super friendly and helpful.
Great location for visiting Soutsea and surrounding area.
Would definitely recommend paying the extra for a parking bay at the front of the hotel as street parking could be tricky.
We stayed to visit family in Southsea and will definitely use this hotel again!"
"Situated conveniently, parking not ideal, staff professional friendly and polite . Room was clean dated but clean. No usb port at all for charging. Hot drink available from reception. It was cheap and clean. "
"The hotel room was very clean and comfortable, the reception staff were excellent and the hotel was in a very good location for access on foot to the historic docks and Gunwharf Quays. Did not eat at hotel or use the bar so cannot comment on these facilities. If you are able to utilise one of the hotel's free parking bays which we did, this is another asset of the hotel."
"Staff was friendly, rooms were large and stocked with everything we could possibly need for a 1 night stay. Our host gave us a quick tour, and took time to provide information and answer questions. Truly enjoyed the comfort that was provided, the easy food options just down the road."
"Staff are always very friendly and it is ideally situated with a great view of the sea. Shops are nearby as well as close location to sites. Every time I come down to the area I stay here due to suitability for my needs and also parking availability "

This insightful and interactive museum commemorates the heroism of the Allied forces, many of whom set off from Portsmouth to storm the beaches of Normandy in 1944.
