Oceanfront - Hot Tub - Newly Remodeled Cottage

Fox Kit Cottage offers an exciting ocean experience in sumptuous comfort. As you scroll through the pictures you will see there is nothing in Bodega Bay like it. Well-appointed, it has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, the other with two twin beds, and one bathroom. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a vacation for a small family.

With its remodel in 2011and further enhancements in 2018, the cottage continues as an upscale retreat for its owners and guests. Sitting above Wright’s Beach, views dominate from nearly every room, and intense ocean scenes are customary. From the beautifully designed deck and spa, you will relax, unwind, and feel what the power of the sea can do for your soul.

The ocean is not the only attraction. There is wildlife everywhere. Birds, whales, and fox (the cottage’s namesake) are just a sampling. From two short paths – Monterey Pine Path, and Bluff Path, you will enjoy the coastal landscape and incredible views. The spacious lot hosts a majestic, intricately intertwined, 40-year old Monterey Pine tree, with a path under its canopy and a stone bench to sit and admire natural arbor artistry. The Bluff Path takes you down to a bench amongst the freshwater springs, flowering foliage, with the vast ocean below.

Furnishings reflect a commitment to clean contemporary design, local art, and attention to detail. Amenities include quality bedding, thick bath towels and robes, and natural toiletries, setting this home apart from others. There are activities nearby for everyone: Horseback riding on the beach, surfing at Salmon Creek Beach, pampering at the Osmosis Spa, hiking among ancient redwoods at Armstrong Grove, golfing at Bodega Harbour, abalone diving, kayaking and swimming on the Russian River, zip-lining at Occidental. Easy to find. The views from the balcony are amazing! Only issue we had was the deck paint is peeling and would stick to your feet. Walk to the beach was nice. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax in Bodega. Make sure you eat at The Fishetarian and the sandwiches at Pelican Plaza are awesome.

This was our 2nd time at this property. The house was neat and clean, perfect space for a small family. Great location, near many beaches and also close to town, and you cannot beat the view. There was a couple maintenance issues that were in the process of being repaired, but Beth the host was very accommodating to us and made our stay even better. We will definitely stay here again!

What a beautiful cottage. The view is from the yard, and looking through the windows of the back of the house, as well as on the deck are amazing. The kitchen is well stocked, and the beds are really comfortable. Others have commented about the slanted ceiling in the bathroom. Unless one is spending an extended amount of time in front of the mirror, the bathroom was just fine. A really nice shower and updated fixtures. We loved our stay!

The views are simply stunning. We loved the property and the deck so much. The bathroom was a little smaller than we were expecting, as a taller couple, it was a little difficult to get ready. I also understand conserving energy, but man it took like 2 hours to fully warm up after our long drive from SFO in November. Overall, we want to come back and cannot get over how beautiful the views are.

The location of this property is wonderful however, it is infested with fruit flies. I honestly can not recommend staying here u til the property manager takes care of the issue. I understand homes have bugs but I probably disposed of 50 fruit flies and there were more when we left. I notifes the property manager of the issue as soon as we got there and they recommended using bug spray. I am sorry but I should not be the one to be cleaning your house, especially given the "cleaning fee" we were charged.Other things to note:- bedroom/wall heaters do not work. The onlyt heater in the house is the living room fireplace. While this is nice, it takes anout 4 hours to notice a difference theough out the home.- bed sheets had stains from previos guests.- the oven had diety pans inside from previous guest.- hot tub had left over/used towels from previous guest.-response time for property manger is slow.While the view is incredible and only 10 minutes from the main drag of bodega bay, the pros do not out weight the cons. I would not recommend or stay here again until the property owner gets the bug issue resolved. I can deal with the other issues but trying to cook/eat dinner and finding fruit flies in eberything is in excusible, especially when you ask me to take care of the issue for you when charging a cleaning fee.I h ighly suggest the property owner find a different cleaning crew.

Our stay was actually canceled due to a malfunction the property experienced a couple days prior to our travel. We were given a full refund, however, With that perspective And having booked this location several months in advance with very much excitement for the whole family, disappointed that even in the aftermath, while the owners and manager presumably resolved the issue, there was no follow up to invite us to return to the property or other gesture to acknowledge our own situation. For instance, our son was devastated that he wasn’t gonna get to sleep on the bunkbeds after telling everybody for months about it. Even just advice about finding another place to stay on short notice would have helped

This cottage offered a very peaceful stay. The yard is well manicured and the view is absolutely stunning.The kitchen is equipped and nice to cook in with a beautiful pine tree out the window. The gas fireplace warms the home well and offers a cozy feel. The bedrooms are inviting and the beds are very comfortable. The wifi was uninterrupted and streaming was easy.
