Worse than you can imagine-I would give this a negative star rating if I could
We arrived at the property and immediately noticed that the floors were sticky. Carpets were stained all throughout the house and everything was very dirty. We thought we would be able to just clean it up ourselves but even after scrubbing the floors they were sticky. The mattresses were all dirty and 1 was completely unusable. Cleanliness (or non-cleanliness) aside, our biggest problem with this house was that it was completely unsafe. All of the smoke detectors were located in the wrong spots and no batteries in any of them. The railing on the deck was broken. Owner tried to hide it by placing a BBQ in front of it. Strong smell of mold in basement area which owner tried to cover up with lots of air freshener. Smell of gasoline coming from garage area. We stayed about 2 hours contemplating (trying to clean it up and accessing issues) what to do and in the end just did not feel safe or comfortable staying at this home. We had to scramble around to find hotel rooms for 7 people. I contacted Home Away and they filed a claim but advised we had to deal directly with the property owner for refund which of course he advised he would not refund our money. Be warned, house is not as it appears in these pictures. Outside of house is fine but inside is a disaster.
