    Description: Indulge in the ultimate mountain getaway at this exquisite, secluded luxury log home spanning 3,200 square feet. Accessible via stairs only to the main floor, guests are greeted by the crisp mountain air and breathtaking views from the expansive 1800 square feet of decks and porches. Relax on the screened-in porch off the kitchen or dine al fresco on the "dining deck," furnished with handmade hickory furniture and a gas barbecue.

    Professionally decorated, every room in this log home exudes comfort and beauty. With four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, accommodating up to ten guests is effortless. The primary bedroom features a king bed and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom, while one upstairs bedroom boasts queen beds and a twin trundle bed. The downstairs bedroom is a suite complete with a queen bed, living room area, gas log fireplace, and TV, perfect for extended family or friends.

    The inviting living room is adorned with a gas log fireplace, armoire housing a TV, DVD player, and stereo, ensuring cozy evenings indoors. The upscale kitchen is a chef's dream, fully equipped with two separate ovens, high-end cooking equipment including a KitchenAid stand mixer, Jen Air stove, and everything needed to prepare a gourmet meal.

    Location: Located off of Hwy 105 and centrally located to Boone, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock. The convenient location makes it just minutes away from all the High Country’s most famous attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Appalachian State University.  If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Relax and enjoy the slow pace of the mountains and the fresh air or be adventurous and go hiking, fishing, biking, or sight-seeing. Some other things people enjoy are shopping, antiquing, skiing, golfing and miniature golfing, ziplining, go-karts, and gem mining.

Beautiful mountain cabin. Well appointed. Loved the sitting porches. Not too much of a view, but enjoyed the feeling of deep woods isolation. Steep driveway. Parking pad for only two vehicles. Easy drives to everywhere on curvy mountain roads. Would stay here again.

Beautiful home. Great location. Plenty of parking for our two families. House had everything we needed. While the management company was responsive, we wish we didn’t have had to call to report that we had to clean the exterior spaces, the gas grill was broken (propane tank was full as we requested but grill was not working), and televisions in top bedrooms did not work. Given all that, we would rent this home again!

Honestly, the pictures don’t do it justice! It’s a beautiful home. Things to note: the driveway is STEEP! At the time we were staying, the downstairs did have a light odor to it. But the kitchen was wonderful and loved all the seating options. Great for three families as we each had our own floor.

God response about extinguished pilot light for main living room fireplace. Was remedied within hour.s Exterior of the property had clearly not been maintained in a diligent manner. Step on a steep exterior stair case was broken and unsafe. I emailed video with this info and received no reply.

Great get away stay

Lots of room for 4 couples. Beautiful views at the house and on the drive to it. Easy commute to Boone, Blowing Rock and hiking trails.. A couple minor issues with shower knobs.

Wonderful Property

House was beautiful with plenty of room for our family. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful decks to enjoy the perfect weather. Great location not far from The Game Keeper where we had an amazing dinner. Short drive into blowing rock and great hiking. Loved our stay! Thank you!

Great stay

Really enjoyed the house and the furnishings. Had everything we needed and then some. Stayed with our children ages 14 - 22. Everyone had a great time and loved the house. Will rent again when in the area.

Mother's 1st mountain trip at age 70

The home was beautuful and we had everything we needed right there. It was very spacious and clean. Beautiful scenery and saw a lot if wildlife. She was sad she didnt get to see any bears but she really enjoyed herself.

A peaceful stay in the woods

A wonderful stay surrounded by nature. We had a large Buck roaming the grounds followed by a few white tails- the weather was frosty and cold with beautiful fireplaces! The kitchen was very well stocked. We didn't get to use the firepit outside due to the rain but we had a blast catching up with our friends. We can't wait to come back!

Gorgeous home

This is a beautiful, comfortable home. We enjoyed it so much. The location was perfect for visiting the area. You do need the four wheel drive for the driveway which is steep. We would love to come back when we can enjoy the beautiful porches! It was a little cold for that this trip. But the skiing was great!

Sticks and Stones is a beautiful home! My family enjoyed our stay so much! We loved the large kitchen/dining/family area where we could gather to eat and play games. We loved the views and feeling surround by God's creation. The home is conveniently located to attractions but nestled far enough away to be private. As others have stated, the driveway is very steep and was a little slick with leaves that had fallen. We cleared those away and had no trouble once we figured out how to strategically park our four vehicles. Just keep in mind you will likely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle if there's snow on the driveway. Thanks for a great visit!

Girls trip

Property was beautiful and very nice. There were several lamps and quite a few of them had burned out lightbulbs. Some of the overhead lights as well. There was only one remote that worked out of all of the tv’s. No batteries in the remotes. We followed the instructions for lighting the gas logs and could not get them to turn on. Nothing major but making sure these are addressed for the next person.

Sibling Reunion Plus a Wedding

My three sisters and their spouses and I spent a week at Sticks and Stones with a wedding on the Saturday in the middle of that time. The house met our needs well, and we enjoyed our time together. We had four vehicles and were able to park 3 of them up by the house and one in a pullout halfway up. The driveway was indeed very steep and necessitated the use of the lowest gear to get up without slipping on wet leaves (none of the vehicles were 4-wheel drive, and it had been raining). The kitchen was well-stocked. The house was secluded, which we liked, but was only 12-15 minutes drive into Boone or Blowing Rock. Beautiful area. Wi-fi was spotty for some of our phones. Overall we had a wonderful time together.

Beautiful views & comfy space

Sticks & Stones is a beautiful, roomy and comfortable home with everything you could possibly need to cook, play games or just relax. The spacious living area is well decorated and the dining table accommodates a large group with ease. We prepared our Thanksgiving meal and had everything we needed. The beds are so comfortable which was an added bonus! The folks at Foscoe Rentals are awesome to work with if any issues arise. Some things to note: if you are staying in the winter, the driveway is steep and could easily become problematic in bad weather. The basement area has a bedroom and living area that doesn’t stay very warm due to the thermostat being on the main floor. We opted not to use that space as temps dropped into the 20’s while we were there. There is no satellite TV as the ad states so be aware. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to large families or groups!
