This was by far the nicest location that we stayed at while in France. Staff was excellent, and the food was excellent. It is remote, so plan for extra travel times if going into town.
Two nights was not enough to enjoy this beautiful country resort. Excellent meals, long walks and a beautiful spa to relax in. The staff are so attentive and genuinely helpful. We will definitely return!
We had a great time here. Beautiful grounds, great chateau architecture, excellent food and wine, plus the friendliest service we have ever seen in France. Baby friendly too!
A truly magnificent experience. Exquisite historic chateau, beautifully updated with modern amenities. Charming!!! Excellent and attentive staff. Gorgeous location. Restaurant is top notch.
Delicious breakfast. We will return!
Beautiful place with a very friendly staff. Specifically loved the apéro with the wine from the area named after the château and the restaurant was delicious. Highly recommended!
We loved our weekend stay at Chateau Leognan. All the staff where super friendly and helpful and made our stay very memorable. Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day!
Thank you to all the staff, from the wine tasting, to the spa, the restaurant and everyone at reception, everyone was amazing!
Very friendly and professional staff. The room in the chateau was charming and with all convenience. The room in the tree an amazing experience, loved it!
This is a beautiful property, we had a beautiful room, options for dinner and breakfast. We had complimentary wine tasting and spa sauna and steam rooms. Excellent
We had a very special stay at Léognan in one of their beautiful treehouses overlooking the lake. The breakfast was delivered to our room in a picnic basket. The cosy decor was incredibly sweet. The hotel staff sets wonderful and helpful. We borrowed the electric bikes and took their recommendation for a bakery to grab a picnic for lunch. Fantastic hotel.
We stayed one night in a tree house that had a balcony with a view overlooking a pond and trees. The treehouse was constructed less than a year ago. The treehouse still smelled new! Service was excellent and the restaurant had excellent food. Highly recommend staying here.

Lower rating
I would have given a higher rating but we had to leave the breakfast table after waiting nearly half a hour for out hot food and on check out there was no real apology for this. The place is very lovely but
staff were not overly friendly. Would probably from a senior person in charge.
The grounds and interiors of this hotel are superb, however the rest of the experience is lacklustre. It didn’t feel like a 5* experience, more like a 3*. with only one place in the large hotel grounds to get a drink or something to eat outside of breakfast that has no atmosphere in the day. There’s an outdoor area and seating in the restaurant that’s covered in leaves and not well maintained. A beautiful chateau and place to sit with no amenities to even get a coffee or glass of wine feels like a miss. This hotel needs some work to get to the level it appears to be online, particularly on their F&B programme.
They advertise as dog friendly but there’s not one single bin to dispose of waste on the grounds and it’s charged at €15 euros, per dog, per night. Which feels unreasonable. We were there for four nights and with rain the dogs left muddy paws on the sheets and yet these weren’t changed. Over €100 for the dogs to stay but there was no additional cleaning or facilities outside of a dog bowl and bed.
This is a stunning resort, Properrty. It’s not quite a hotel but rooms that are extremely high-quality with a restaurant and wine tasting and vineyard and other things on site there isn’t really a bar in the evening that we found that she went to the restaurant.
We had a free wine tasting at 6 o’clock, which I think they do every night, but I’m not sure as we only stayed for one night. We did buy some of the local wines that were produced on site.
We we bought our own picnic and it was a sunny day we ate in the gardens on one of the tables provided had our own food and their wine and they provided wine glasses for us. The only other choice for food that you can walk to is there on site Resturant otherwise it is a very remote Property.
As we had an early start, we opted not to have breakfast but I did pop in to see if I could just have some hot water and there was no one really around. However, the food looked okay.
This is a really special place that I felt gutted about leaving. I wished I could’ve stayed longer because it is in such a beautiful setting and to be fair the summer shining which always helps.
Myself and my family had a wonderful 2 night stay at Château Léognan. Our rooms were beautifully decorated with views of the woodlands and the onsite chapel.
We took advantage of the complimentary electric bike rentals, to explore the estate and venture out to a nearby lake, and used the tennis court and gym. We also enjoyed a wine tasting experience from the chateau's own winery.
For ultimate relaxation, the chateau boasts an incredibly peaceful spa nestled amongst the trees. While the spa access and treatments require an additional fee, our treatment and overall experience was well worth the money.
The warm and friendly staff truly elevated our stay. A special shoutout goes to Gilles, whose attentiveness went above and beyond. From chauffeuring us around the estate in a buggy to assisting with the bikes and offering invaluable recommendations for our next stop in Bordeaux, Gilles' genuine hospitality made us feel like cherished guests. He was the first to greet us when we arrived, and the last to say au revoir when we (sadly) left.
I could go on, but if you're reading this review and wondering if you should book... DO IT! We wish we had stayed longer and cannot wait to return.
We arrived after the long train ride from Paris. The hailed an UBER, and with 30 min. we arrived. The staff from Geil to michelle were absolutely amazing! They made us feel like the royalty who once lived there. Our rooms were fresh, clean and stocked with all we needed to begin our fortnight.
We travelled with friends and they were equally impressed. Se scheduled a private wine tasting with Michelle and she is a venerable expert with wines and the Chateau Leognan history. The wines are superb and the property is absolutely amazing. Pictures won’t do it justice! Just come! And see it for yourself. But wait!! The spa is a sumptuous experience, the ladies who are professionals are also kind, beautiful and experts at relieving travel weary bodies of tight muscles and the occasional aches of hoisting luggage on the train or through the airport. The restaurant is excellent and thoughtfully prepared meals await you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Please ask Hugo or Clement for a special dish if you have a desire for a slight deviation due to dietary restrictions. They are at your service!!
Merci Beaucoup!!!
I booked this hotel as I wanted to explore the local region on bikes. On arrival I was told each guest was limited to 2 hours per stay. My husband and I were there for 4 days. Had I known this I would not have chosen this location. There is no pool and the gym is a small pod in the grounds with no air-conditioning.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
I was charged fees blindly. When asked what the charges were for they couldnt respond back. Also it was chaos from the moment we arrived. They forgot to check us in to our other room. It was chaotic. Not to mention the taxi serive they use who charged us 4 different prices that tripled each trip we took which was to the same exact place. Its a scam.
