The bed and breakfast is just that! No one after a certain hour, and the free breakfast is for one hour, 08:30/09:30. Grounds are beautiful, and the interior is interesting. The home was built by a rich person in the late 1800-time frame. But, it's like a morgue once breakfast is over. The town it's in is very quiet also. Everything closes at 20:30 or 21:30. When you leave the town be prepared to drive up into mountains or manage driving down said mountain. Locals drive faster than visitors due to the winding roads, and they are not kind to your pace. THats it!

The property was beautiful and immaculate. Our room was excellent. The only challenge we had was figuring out how to safely get into and out of the high tub to take a shower. The breakfasts that were served were generous and delicious. Having coffee outside my room 24/7 was handy. We enjoyed sitting out front on the deck reading. The only thing that would prevent me from coming back is that there doesn’t appear to be much to do in the area. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this inn.

The staff was very accommodating and the room was lovely. It is an older building so it has some quirks like an older bathroom…perfectly functional, but it is older. The bedroom was wonderfully spacious and very comfortable.

The Lilac Inn is a beautiful hotel inside and out. Our room was comfortable and clean. It is the kind of place thy if it rained you would feel happy staying inside. The breakfast was very good.

Relaxing at the Inn

We enjoyed our one night at the Inn. We relaxed on the front porch in the morning, enjoying the flowers and landscaping. Behind the Inn is a large garden/park area that we did not have time to explore but it looked very nice as we walked though it from the Inn to the parking area. The breakfast area was bright and comfortable. The breakfast options were just right for us. Our room on the second floor was spacious and well-decorated. We would have preferred a walk-in shower instead of the tub/shower combination due to the height of the tub. The neighborhood was pleasant, just a short distance to the center of Brandon.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, comfortable atmosphere. Very home like and nostalgic charm, decor throughout brought back to the turn of the 20th century with modern needs met. Setting is appropriate for intimate gatherings such as weddings or a quiet place for couples to relax.
