"This is a very cute old house. We stayed in the upstairs apt. All in all we enjoyed our stay. The yard is very nice.The location is excellent for sightseeing all of Vermont. The little town of Waitsfield is quaint. We were there during the middle of the week so some of the restaurants were closed. Most of the restaurants don't open until 8am. The house is very close to many waterfalls and scenic Rt 100. I will say the house sits on a very busy road and you do here road but once we were asleep we didn't notice the sound.I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice small place."

"We spent the night in Mad River Valley at the 1830 House for a weekend event. The house was clean and cosy and it accommodated all of us. The Wifi worked well and we loved the privacy each of us had in our own rooms. We also appreciated the kitchen (there are two, if you book the whole house - one up and one down!). It was close to our venue, the Mad River Barn, too. The only downside (minor) was the steep stairwell to the second floor. There was no railing to guide guests. My 84-year-old mom stayed on the first floor so it worked out OK. Thanks for a comfortable stay and for letting us check-in a bit early for the event! When we visit the area again, we will book here!"
