Pendle Hill, just 3 miles away, and the neighbouring villages are renowned for the legend of the Pendle Witches and the most notorious witch trial of the 17th century. St. Mary’s Church, located in Newchurch, is home to the tombstone known as the ’witches grave’. Take a trip to the popular market towns of Clitheroe and Skipton, which can both be reached in under half an hour. Further afield, the Lake District and many popular holiday spots along the Fylde Coast can also be reached in under an hour. Beach 44 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 700 yards.
