Blissfully peaceful
Perfect for a peaceful reatreat from the world. Private space, well equipped, super clean. Great host who privided some little extras which were very welcome. Hot tub and outdoor shower always a bit hit. Would defintely recommended for those looking for some quiet, tranquil time. Thanks.

Wonderful Property
Our second weekend at this delightful property. Perfect for a quiet relaxing break. Everything at the property is to the highest standard with everything you could need. The hot tub with the hot outside shower are just superb. The area is delightfully quiet and peaceful with very few vehicles passing on the track. Chris is a great host and the welcome items he left are a lovely touch. We cannot recommend this property highly enough and will definitely be booking again in the future.

Me and my wife booked a 2 night stay and enjoyed every minute, Chris was incredibly helpful with everything aswell as the little touches to make the stay that bit more special we will defiantly be returning. Perfection
What a little gem this property is! The location is perfect, so quiet and peaceful and the surrounding countryside walks are idyllic. The place itself had everything we needed and more... it was perfectly equipped if all you wanted was a quiet night in. The local pubs are a bit of a walk but only a 5 minute drive away and we didn't get to visit them all but the ones we did the food was outstanding. We even managed to walk to the top of Roundway Down Hill - a challenge but so rewarding, one of the most beautiful panoramic views I've ever seen. The hot tub is pure luxury and the set up couldn't be better - French doors off the bedroom, hot outdoor shower and then a movable shelter covering the hot tub so even if it rained (which thankfully it didn't for us) you could enjoy the beautiful bubbling water. Chris was an excellent host. Very friendly and helpful but also just left us to it which we appreciated. We will absolutely be back! Thank you Chris

Beautiful cottage with hot tub
2nd time staying here. The host Chris is just wonderful. The cottage has everything you need. Alot of care, detail and thought has been put in and it shows. The hot tub is such a lovely way to start and finish your day, whatever you may do. Lots of lovely walks, great pubs, Bath just 40mins drive away and much more. Thank you for a wonderful stay again. Had an amazing time there with my partner. We did love the place and the hot tub and the owner has thought about really everything to make this occasion enjoyable and memorable. Hawthorn Lodge is just beautiful! It is certainly a home away from home that has everything you would need and more. The hot tub and outdoor shower are a wow factor and the location is amazing! A beautiful get away for anyone that appreciates the slower life with beautiful walks and views.

We cannot recommend Hawthorn Lodge enough!
We had an outstanding time at Hawthorne Lodge. The communication was wonderful and the place looks even better in real life than it does in the pictures. Chris stands out from every other stay we've been on as it is clearly an ongoing labour of love for him. He has clearly made a big effort to implement all the improvements he can think of and his effort is not unrewarded. It truly makes for an amazing stay. It's secluded and remote, with a lovely series of walks nearby, plenty of great nearby pubs in manor houses and about 10 supermarkets within 15-20 minutes. And of course.. Hot Tub!! Chris was so kind to leave us some treats on our arrival too, he truly thought of everything. We have already recommended it to many friends and are planning our next trip. Thanks again!

I couldn’t highly recommend enough, my mrs and I stayed for her birthday with our dog nemo and it was an amazing experience, watching the sunset in the hot tub was beautiful. we come from a busy town so to come somewhere so quiet was amazingly peaceful and the community is so friendly.

Stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary, what can i say, the process from booking to check-in was smooth and well communicated, was met by the owner Chris who couldn't have been more welcoming, the accommodation was clean fresh smelt amazing and had many extra touches left ready for our short break, we was shown around the absolutely gorgeous hottub and was in within an hour of arrival, if you want somewhere quiet but close to some lovely small towns then look no further. pleanty of places to eat at within a 15mins drive, will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone looking for a break away with some added wow.

Super clean Amazing location Amenities are beyond what anyone could expect Parking is AMAZING EVEN MORE SO - THE HOT TUB IS THE BEST HOT TUB EVER! Outside hot shower was spectacular Secured fencing is great so I left the pup to run around without any worries This place will make you feel at home! Absolutely charming cottage great location can’t wait to stay again would most definitely recommend. Chris went above and beyond with the great surprises left in the fridge very nice touch . The only thing i would say is have a towel rail in the bathroom it gets a little chilly in there especially in the colder months

Thank you for your feedback Zoe. Observations always help and I will look into the possibility of adding a towel rail. I would just say that there is a convector heater in the bathroom with a pull cord. It is very efficient and instantly warms the bathroom up. We were met on arrival by Chris the owner. He showed us around and gave very good advice when using the hot tub which was very helpful. The property had everything catered, fresh milk and juice and a lovely bottle of wine which I very much appreciated😀. Every you should need for either a short or long stay. Everything was spotlessly clean. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Wow, absolutely amazing place to stay. Chris is a fantastic host, left some lovely treats for us upon arrival, the hot tub is amazing. Our dog loved the walks up the no through road. Local supermarket close by. Perfect for those who want to getaway from the stresses of everyday life. Has everything you would require for locking yourself away!! PS3 and dvds as well. Lovely place to just get away and relax for a few days. Not a whole lot to do around the area but a nice peaceful place and well equipped with ps3, dvds games and books, Chris the owner was nice and left us a few nice touches like a bottle of wine and some chocolate

A wonderful night
We stayed for one night as a 30th birthday gift. The photos online do not do the property justice, it's beyond beautiful and the hot tub was such a lovely luxury. Chris' hospitality was excellent and were were grateful for the little touches of croissants, milk, wine and orange juice! It's was the perfect way to decompress from the busy world of parenthood. We will , without a doubt be back in the not too distant future.

Outside space perfect, inside slightly basic but did the job
We took our little dog and he really enjoyed the freedom of the garden whilst we were assured he couldn’t escape. The hot tub and the lighting was really well thought through and ensured a truly relaxing break! The inside whoever was more basic and essential kitchen equipment was not provided. Basics for tea and breakfast were provided but little else. Nice choices of pubs within walking distance (an hour +/-) for those not wishing to cook

Hi Lilly. I am sorry that you did not have the right kitchen equipment for your needs. Much of the non essential kitchen equipment has been removed to help make the Lodge Covid safe. All this equipment is in clean store and always available. You simply needed to ask as I am always on site as I informed you on your arrival and would have provided you with anything you required in the knowledge that it was clean and not touched by other guests. All the essential equipment in the Lodge is cleaned before new guests arrive. I would also have provided you with towels and bowls etc for your dog if you had thought to inform me that you were indeed bringing a dog to my place as most guests tend to do.
