Beautiful ocean view rental

Nice area, technology challenged but easy to fix

We stayed during a CA heat wave that was great to be in the cool on the coastline. The good: cool, quiet neighborhood, great walks, instant hot water. Near some great spots and eateries. Decent Wifi. The bad: stuffy, poor cable, no ice, poor cell service, old school check in. Bring some groceries with you, nearest big grocery store is 30 minutes away. Weber grill stored on upper wood deck (not a good idea to charcoal near wooden walls and decks in tight space). Small propane grill would be safer and more convenient. There are very easy fixes to resolve. But why aren't these easy fixes made? It takes several steps/minutes to just watch minimal cable (I found instructions on small postit note in desk that former renter left behind) Hand full of channels. Add two $1 ice trays, add floor or box fans to circulated air at night. Large window screens on front deck can't be secured while open at night. Some blinds need replacement and some windows stuck shut. No easy remote check in codes or combo lock at rental. Must go to town to use old style lock box and get documents and keys to enter unit (also renters have access to all other renters keys at the same time?) DirecTV dish mounted but not used (was at one time). No cell service near neighborhood so use online maps. This unit charges a premium price and some simple fixes would greatly improve the value of this rental. It is a great place to experience all of the sights nearby. Hope we can return with these easy fixes.

Quiet neighborhood at the beach

The rental was a bit better than described in other reviews. The living room furniture had been covered and looked nicer and the bedding had been updated. Kitchen had what we needed to make dinner in the house two of our nights. Great walks to view the coastline just down the street. Check in and out was contactless and easy. Very comfortable stay.

Lovely spot

Nice spot. Retro feel. Would have loved some refillable shampoo/conditioner/soap caddy in the bathrooms. There was no recycle bin or water filter in the kitchen. Adding both those would help reduce carbon footprint of the property

Excellent location, but very, very tired property.

I'll start with the positive; the location is really great. The property is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and very close to the ocean with a lovely lookout point with benches just two short blocks away. It is maybe a 10-minute drive to the East and West Villages, and close to Moonstone Beach. Two king beds were great for two couples and the beds were comfortable. The place was clean. Now, I'll provide the negative. The property is very, very tired. Almost all the window blinds that you would like to use are broken. Several hard-to-reach lights were burnt out in the kitchen and family room. The bathroom fixtures in both bathrooms are old and discolored. The linoleum on both bathroom floors near the tub is coming up and away from the tub. There were ants in the upstairs bedroom. The microwave that's part of the stove/oven unit is broken, however, a cheap countertop microwave is provided. There were very few niceties that you would normally find in a VRBO property. No coffee, tea or sugar, etc., no luggage racks, very few coat hangers in either closet, no bath mats, lots of "stuff" in the closets and cabinets. Other than the nice location, I would not recommend this property.

11 days in Paradise.

If you are tired of heat and noise, if like sound of waves crashing against costal rocks, if you like pelicans, seals, sea otters and hawks, if you like the idea of spending a quiet evening on the balcony with a glass of wine, or in front of a fire place 1960 Windsor Dr, Cambria is the place for you. We relished our time there, and will definitely come again.

Great access to beach & Fiscalini

Very clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient for 2 adults; could also work for 4. Scenic Coast Management gave excellent customer service. On the morning of Day 2, I sent a message about the TV not working and two problems in the downstairs bathroom. Kimberly tried calling and, when she couldn't reach us (we were out walking and unaware of the call), she stopped by in the early afternoon and showed us how to use the TV. The directions left in the unit were inaccurate. Shortly thereafter, the handyman came and fixed the sink and a loose piece of hardware. A couple of other issues that I did not report are that the A/C does not cool down the unit in the afternoon & evening, and that the Wifi and cell phone access do not work in the downstairs bedroom.

Great location, simple house

This location is incredible, definitely worth it for the price. The TV instructions, etc. definitely need reworking, but we were lucky in that we brought a laptop that we could just plug into the HDMI cord. The balcony and back yard situation are not super usable, but who needs it when you're steps away from coastal access in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood? Definitely bring kitchen items you think you'll need aside from pots and pans. Would stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was super clean as described. The proximity to the ocean is great. Just a block or two And 3 or 4 blocks to the preserve right on the ocean with nice hiking trails. Very quiet and peaceful. The only slightly negative was the oven was not clean and the gas bbq was not useable. Otherwise I highly recommend this place. The manager was nice and easy to work with. We would definitely go back.

Sweet Escape

It is a lovely home so very near the ocean and the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. We were able to walk and walk and walk! This little house is a delightful place to stay and we had a great weekend. It was very clean and nicely maintained. The could really use a new grill--the one there is pretty old not at all in good shape. I would also suggest an upgrade to the chairs on the deck. They are cheap plastic jobs and not comfortable for more than a short time. We really hope to come back again in the future!

Little blue heavenly beach house!

A wonderful stay in a light and comfortable little beach house. Only one glitch with the master bathroom, the outlets were not working on both sides of the sink. Kitchen is a little sparse in supplies but has all the basics. The first thing we noticed upon entering is that this house is spotless. Very clean! The extra big TV in the living room is awesome too. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would consider returning.

Nearly Perfect

For two, the upstairs was all we needed--- cozy and comfortable with an ensuite bedroom, Especially handy for those in their mature years. The TV was twice the size of the one at home, Furniture was comfortable. One suggestion: Update the the range/oven.

Very clean, two blocks from ocean

Property mangmnt gave good instructions for after-hours check-in. The unit was lacking a few little things (salt and pepper shakers, although they had bulk of both...weird...a toaster, pot holders, etc. and instructions on how to light the fireplace (a selling feature)! Mangmt sent a handy man over the next day with all items, which is exactly how u want a mangmnt co. to operate. Kudos! Unit was clearly built in 1980s, but soo clean (even kitchen drawers and cupboards). Great unit for those of us not needing ultra modern expensive rental. Would recommend, definitely.
