"Pumilio Mountain & Ocean Hotel was the perfect place to begin our Costa Rica adventure. Located between San José and Jacó, it made the first drive from the airport easy and stress-free. The hotel is just minutes from Jacó, yet it feels like you're surrounded by lush jungle.
The property is beautiful, with well-maintained grounds, a lovely pool, and an open-air restaurant and spa. Breakfast was included and offered fresh fruit, juices, rice and beans, and freshly made waffles that accommodated our vegan diet. The restaurant also had several vegan-friendly menu options.
One of the highlights of our stay was a couples massage in the open-air spa. Our therapists were excellent, and the light rain during the treatment made the experience feel truly magical.
Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with air conditioning and a full outdoor kitchen. We also enjoyed being close enough to Jacó to visit the farmers market, shop for souvenirs, and take walks on the beach before returning to the peace and quiet of the hotel.
