"I was so disappointed with the Riu Palace in Costa Rica. I took my husband, my sister, and her husband there to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and our experience was absolutely terrible.
We checked into Room 2083, and it was ridiculous. The room looked very old, the sheets were yellowish and worn out, and there was no ocean view at all — all we could see were the pools and gardens, even though we specifically booked an ocean view room.
I went back to customer service, and they told me that if I looked to the side, I would be able to see the ocean. I told them absolutely not — I paid for an ocean view room. They then moved us to the fourth floor, but when I got there, there were three huge palm trees directly in front of the balcony door, so again, there was still no ocean view. On top of that, the faucet handle in the bathroom was broken, the room looked terrible, and the sheets were still old and yellowish. Same menu every day. Only good thing about the place is outside by the pool."
