“A Jungle Haven with a Thoughtful Host.I spent three peaceful weeks at Casa Zenergy in Herradura — the perfect soft landing for my three-month stay in Costa Rica. Mario is an outstanding host. Before I even arrived, he proactively arranged my transport from Juan Santamaría Airport (SJO) to the property.The sparkling pool is surrounded by a lush, tropical garden alive with the sounds of birdsong. Each morning brought a delightful chorus from Rufous-tailed Hummingbirds to House Wrens.The house is……

“Great host, beautiful off the beaten path setting with toucan birds flying around. We had a small 2 wheel drive SUV and had no issues getting to the cabin in rain or sunny conditions. Keep your momentum and it’s an easy little drive up a hill. Close to Quopos and Antionio Manuel sites (20-30min). If you want a country setting and a great escape then I highly recommend it! Already planning our trip back!”

“The house was well maintained and comfortable (we didn't spend a lot of time there, but the kitchen was well appointed, beds were comfortable) and the location was perfect for hiking Volcan Barva and starting our CR trip. The only issue we had was with the management company, Vacasa, who didn't communicate our arrival to the house manager, but otherwise it was perfect.”

“I stayed a couple of nights with friends, we only wanted a place to talk, play board games, cook some food and relax. This property was perfect for all that, with plenty of sitting areas. The bathroom was very nice, with plenty of space for large groups. The property was very clean and with a nice view. The only 2 things I will recommend the host to update are the couches (maybe a deep clean), they look dirty. The second thing is the futon (this was the 3rd bed), I slept there and it was not……

“El lugar estaba abandonado, no se limpia , en el cuarto de baño había panes de jabón viejo en el piso y del tubo de lavareis el agua salía con tierra , signo de que nunca lonhan usado para lavar el baño. Estaba lleno de telarañas y había cucarachas . NO dormimos en toda la noche , pues la sábanas olían a polvo , en fin fue una experiencia memorablemente trágica,”

“Property manager never showed up at the house to let us in. No response to emails or voice messages. After 6 emails and two voicemails I am still trying to get a refund. Avoid this place. Bad mgmt.”
